Flower Ceremony

Rev. Carol Strecker Speaking

Join us for a very special celebration of the 100th Anniversary of this tradition that has deep roots in our Unitarian Universalist faith. Each of us is a unique flower with gifts of great beauty to share. When we bring them together there is great beauty in the unity enhanced by our diversity. So, bring a flower or two to add to the collective beauty of the bouquet that is Northshore Church. We’ll honor the unique gifts of several very special people including volunteer recognition.

This service will begin with the completion of the Annual Meeting; the important business of electing a new Board of Directors and Officers for the coming year.

To attend the Sunday service via Zoom,

please go to the Northshore Church website nsuu.org

Caro Barschow

Caro Barschow (she/they pronouns) will begin serving as Minister at Northshore UU Church in August. Caro’s spiritual influences are broad, woven by the thread of a belief that awakening hearts bring forth healing and transformation to people, planet and systems. They became a Unitarian Universalist in 2006, after being raised non-religious. Caro maintains a Buddhist meditation practice in the Insight Meditation tradition. Connecting with the natural world is an important aspect of their spirituality. Caro finds belonging in 12 Step Recovery and the LGBTQIA+ community.

Caro is a minister in preliminary fellowship with the Unitarian Universalist Association. She will be ordained in a ceremony on June 17th jointly by the UU Church of Nashua and the First Parish UU in Portland, ME. Caro completed a Master of Divinity degree at Boston University, chaplaincy training at Brigham and Women's Hospital and an internship at the UU Church of Nashua, NH. In addition, Caro served last year as Sabbatical Minister at the UU Church of Nashua and as Summer Minister at First Parish Portland, ME in 2020. Prior to enrolling in seminary, she worked as a Director of Religious Education and a Montessori educator in Portland, ME.

SUMMER CIRCLES SERVICES AT NSUU - 2023

For the upcoming summer season, we are gathering in “Summer Circles.” Circles are designed to be an abbreviated church service, centered around a group discussion on a topic of the presenter’s choice. Please see the attached FAQ for more information.

Thank you to those who have expressed interest in leading. We now confirmed presenters for two Sundays (August 6 and August 27), with three other individuals expressing interest. We are looking for 3-4 more people who would enjoy a chance to talk about a topic dear to their heart and of interest to our congregation.

If you're interested in helping make our NSUU summer special, please email your proposed service description to the church office (NSUU@verizon.net) and to Jennifer Revill (Religious Services Committee) (jenrevill@aol.comon or before June 15, so that it can be included in the summer newsletter and Good Things Are Happening. Be sure to include the date for your service along with your title and description.
