From the Northshore Church Board of Directors ...

A message from Board Chair Andrea Kaiser--

I want to thank everyone who participated in the congregational conversation last Sunday. Your comments are very helpful. For those of you who were unable to join us, the Board is asking that you send your comments along before next Wednesday's board meeting on May 11th. The more voices we here the better! You can send them directly to me at ccstpg@verizon.net.

This year's pledge drive is more important than ever! As we launch the search for a new minister, our ability to meet our financial obligations becomes part of the information passed on to candidates. Our collective support can help us reach our goal of $100,000 in pledges. You already know that we were unable to recruit a Pledge Drive Committee this year. The Board took on this responsibility. Some of you have already sent in your pledges, and we are so appreciative.

NOW I am asking all of us to read the pledge brochure carefully and pledge as you are able. We are trying to make individual phone calls, but it would really help if you would send the pledge cards in now, so that we can present a realistic budget to you at the annual meeting on May 22nd.

Thank you so much,

Andrea Kaiser, Board Chair

Northshore UU Church is pleased to announce

the appointment of Georgia Bills

We are pleased to introduce our next Music Director, George Bills. Her tenure will begin on August 20, 2022. She resides in Beverly and has a long history of serving UU Churches as Music Director. Georgia's talents include voice, piano and trombone, which we hope she will share with us over time. The Singing Group rehearsed with Georgia during the interview period and both the search committee, and the board unanimously approved her hiring.

Georgia sent along some words to share with you: "Music has brought me friends, travel to other countries, countless shared common experiences, lots of black clothes, strong arms, tears of joy and employment from age 17. It is exciting to be entrusted with leading NSUU's music journey. Together, we will create a lovely, 'crazy quilt' of music."

Georgia's photo and complete resume' will be posted on our website very soon. Please become familiar with her vast experiences on the North Shore.

NSUU Church 2022 Annual Meeting will be held

following the Sunday service on May 22.

Religious Education News

As some of you may know, there has been some work underway by Religious Exploration and other community members to plan a program that might interest younger children and families to become engaged in our church. This program is called World of Wonder. Unfortunately, we have decided to cancel the program due to low response. Thanks to all who have invested time trying to get this off the ground.                                                                                   Best regards, Samantha McCune

NSUU Sunday Strolls Start Again

Sunday Strolls will start again in the afternoon on May 1st and run through June 26. We need volunteers to lead each stroll. Stroll leaders:

·      Pick a meeting place.

·      Consider parking, bugs, path smoothness, grades, water hazards.

·      Establish whether there are parking restrictions.

·      Establish dog-friendliness of the place.

·      Work with the coordinator, Bob Ferris, to get the information out to the congregation.

So, please contact Bob at bobferris1949@gmail.com or by calling him at 978-660-7437 if you would like to lead a stroll. Share your favorite places with other members!
