"Stepping Out of the Shadows - Ignoring Social Stereotypes"

Gerri Cannon, speaking

Gerri Cannon is a New Hampshire State Representative and a spokesperson for transgender equality. She says, "I grew up learning that men and women had defined societal roles. What if you feel that you don't fit? How do you break out of your own learned personal biases? I'll share my journey and breaking all the expectations along the way."

First Search Committee Update

Dear members and friends of Northshore Church,
We met for the first time to begin the process of searching for our next minister. It is essential that you also participate in the process as actively as possible. Soon you will receive information about a Unitarian Universalist Association survey for our congregation. This is the first very important way to get details about who we are now and what we feel is important for our future together.
We will be sending a link to electronically complete that survey, as well as letting you know how to access a paper copy if you prefer. No matter the format, it is essential that each Northshore Church member or friend get one completed survey back to us as we begin our search.
You will have other ways to keep in touch and share your thoughts. In addition to small group “Cottage Meetings”, you are able to reach out to any Search Committee members personally—when you see us at church (look for our name tags), or in personal conversations (contact information is in the new directory). We will also stay in touch with you in the Northshore Church weekly email announcements, “Good Things are Happening”.
We are grateful that you chose us to represent your interests and hopes for Northshore Church’s future minister as we search, together.
Excited to begin,
Bo Batty, Beth Blanchard, Jeri Kroll, Julie O’Meara (Chair), Terri Hansen

From the Administrator...

Committees, teams, and groups that meet at the church on weekdays between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. are asked to use the unisex rest room located across from the library. The classroom wing of the church is used by the daycare Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. For the safety of the children, on weekdays access to this area of the building is limited to daycare use only and all entry doors to the daycare are locked. If a church committee, team or group member requires access to the accessible rest room in the daycare wing, arrangements will be made. Please contact the church office.

An updated directory is now available on the Welcome Table in the Fellowship Hall. Pick one up on Sunday!

Soon NSUU Church members and friends will be able to access the directory by using their email and pin.

Music notes from Georgia Bills

                                   NSUU Church Director of Music

I need to share with you that my time at NSUU is going to be abbreviated from what was the original plan to be with you through June.

Briefly, since signing my contract at the end of April, several areas of my family life have heated up in unanticipated ways, and I am very crushed for the time during the week to handle all of the responsibilities involved.

will be with NSUU through Christmas Eve and am very excited with some special guests that will be joining us. David Coffin, the troubadour of Revels REVELS.ORG will be with us for our service on November 13. On December 11 we will rock the rafters with some brass music when we will be joined by trumpeter Tim Deik, a very talented and busy player in the greater Boston area.

Trust and go forward.

LET'S MAKE "ART IN THE WOODS" A HUGE SUCCESS

IT IS UP TO EACH OF US TO DO OUR PART

Art in the Woods needs YOU

Many thanks to the people who have signed up to volunteer at the Art in the Woods Fundraiser. The Fundraiser is just 2 weeks away. We must get out the publicity by sharing the flyer and cards with friends, family, businesses and anyone you know. The flyer is on the NSUU Facebook Page and on the NSUU website and flyers and cards are available on the Welcome Table in the church Fellowship Hall.

Also, we need more sign-ups for jobs like set-up, clean-up, baking or buying food. Items we need are on the NSUU.org website. On the top bar go to “Connecting”, then “Fundraising” and then see the sign-up categories to the right. Just type in your name and phone. We will also

have the sign-up lists available after church this Sunday.
