Multi-Platform Guidelines

March 20, 2022 Sunday Service

10:30 a.m. via Zoom

"Healing the World Through Joy"

Rev. Strecker speaking

Terry Tempest Williams writes,

To sing at dawn and to sing at dusk was to heal the world through joy.

The birds still remember what we have forgotten,

That the world was meant to be celebrated!

Join us to celebrate spring and the opportunity to be together. We will be together for the first time in two years, in our beautiful sanctuary in the woods, a balm for the soul. May our joy be a healing force in the world.

This will be our first multi-platform service. You may attend in person or continue to attend on-line through the link on the website at nsuu.org. Masks and proof of vaccinations are required for in-person attendance. You can send your vaccination record to Nancy in the office at nsuu@verizon.net or bring it with you on Sunday morning.

March 27, 2022 Sunday Service

"Unitarian Universalist Women Visionaries, Past and Present"

Rev. Strecker speaking

Women’s History month seems like an opportune time to honor the many contributions Unitarian, Universalist and UU women have made in helping realize this vision. Looking back, we can see how these rebels and trailblazers helped pave the way for the visionaries of today.

Social Action

Peaker Plant Solidarity Standout Rally

Join us in front of the Peabody Courthouse on Tuesday, March 22 from 4:30 to 6 pm for a rally to support five members of 350 Mass Climate Courage who have started a hunger strike to protest against the egregious use of power by governments and semi-government agencies to approve and permit a dirty gas/oil power facility to be built in Peabody. These hunger strikers will be present during the standout. Bring signs and look for members of Social Action and Green Sanctuary Committees. This rally is supported by many groups including UU Mass Action and Breathe Clean North Shore.

Indigenous Peoples Study Group

We have been so inspired by the number of people who have been coming to our meetings and participating in our discussions. The last one on March 6 "Home from School: The Children of Carlisle" was difficult to watch and acknowledge the wrongs of the past but at the same time, we are bearing witness and helping bring the past to light thereby paving the path for healing.

Legislative Action: As we expand our knowledge, let’s also support actions being taken to support Massachusetts Native Americans and ensure their true history is kept alive in our culture and schools. Go to UU Mass Action website Indigenous Rights — Unitarian Universalist Mass Action (uumassaction.org) to learn more about their Indigenous Peoples campaign.

We have many more exciting ideas and plans to continue our studies. We will have a speaker later this month, a possible trip to a museum and another speaker planned for next month. Stay tuned.
