"Belonging"

Rev. Carol Strecker, speaking

The need to belong is a driving force in our lives - right up there with food, shelter and safety. How does the need to belong impact the choices we make in our daily lives? And as people who value the worth and dignity of all people, how can we create open-hearted spaces and relationships that facilitate a sense of belonging for ourselves and for others?

"Beginning Again"

Rev. Carol Strecker, speaking

Beginning with Rosh Hashanah and ending with Yom Kippur, the Jewish High Holidays are a time of intentionally turning toward one another. It’s time to reflect on the past, making a commitment to reconcile, renew and recommit to being in right relationship with self, others and with God.

From the Board...The completed budget for FY 21-22 can be viewed by clicking on: FY22 Budget Report

The deficit was a little smaller than stated at the annual meeting as a few outstanding bills came in for less than expected. There was no need to access funds from our endowments as our cash reserve of $80,944.58 will clearly cover the deficit. Bob Ferris, Treasurer

Share your voice

Men, please don’t share that voice with just the bathroom tiles! There is SO much wonderful music out there that wants a “bottom line”. What’s the orchestra without basses? The rock band without the bass? The concert band without the tuba? You get the point. The Singing Group repertoire options would multiply EXPONENTIALLY with YOU! We rehearse on Wednesday afternoons from 1 PM to 2:30 PM in the sanctuary and have a brush-up on Sunday morning at 9:15AM. This is an opportunity of a lifetime

Northshore Church to host its first Fundraiser/Friendraiser in more than 2 years!

Saturday, October 15 from 1-5:30 pm

(Rain date October 16)

Members and friends of Northshore Church --

As we return to in-person services and activities this fall, we are finally able to hold a major fundraiser to support our programs and services that impact our mission and serve our community.

On October 15 we will celebrate "Art in the Woods," a tribute to the prolific original art donations by Shirley Guerriero and Elaine Chipman's family, as well as photos by Hal Morse and Beth Blanchard. In addition, there will be two paintings by Eleanor Koshgarian.

One hundred percent of the proceeds from the sale of the artwork go directly to the event and Northshore Church. Refreshments, entertainment and a wonderful art exhibit await us.

NOW IT IS UP TO EACH AND EVERYONE OF US TO DO OUR PART:

1. Reach out to everyone you know & invite them to register for free tickets

We will ticket this event by reservation for a 1 pm-2:30 pm time slot, 2:30 to 4:00 pm time slot, and a final slot from 4 pm to 5:30.

To make a reservation, click on

https://nsuu.org/upcoming-events/join-us-for-art-show/

2. Volunteer to provide refreshments and...

3. Volunteer in person on the day of the event.

THE COMMITTEE HAS DONE ITS WORK.  THE REST IS UP TO US!

Let's make this a huge success both financially and socially, as we invite the community to share in our treasured space and talented members. Remember that this art sale is very reasonably priced for all budgets...$30 to $300.

Thank you for your support,

Andrea Kaiser, Board Chair

On behalf of the Board and Event Committee

NSUU Sunday Strolls Start Again

On Sunday, October 9th

New England BioLabs 240 County Road (Route 1-A)

This is across the road from Appleton Farms

Parking is on your right after entering.

This is a diverse landscape of woodland, wetlands, meadows, and open fields along the Miles River. There is a large assortment of wildlife, including turtles, beavers, Kingfishers, and Woodcocks. We will be walking 1 ½ to 2 miles over relatively flat terrain. Dogs are welcome.

Sunday Strolls will run through November 20. We need volunteers to lead each stroll.

Stroll Leaders:

·      Pick a favorite place – especially one you’ve been to recently - to go for a 1½-2 hour stroll

·      Pick a meeting place

·      Consider parking, bugs, path smoothness, grades, water hazards

·      Establish whether there are parking restrictions

·      Establish dog-friendliness of the place

·      Work with the Stroller Coordinator, Bob Ferris, to get the information out to the congregation.
