Contra Dancing with "Ragtime Jack"

He’s "Ragtime Jack" Radcliffe, and you don’t want to miss him when he comes to town.

Now a resident of Massachusetts, with roots in Virginia and Tennessee, Jack, brings his piano, guitar, fiddle, voice, wit and wisdom with him wherever he goes.

Jack has been performing for more than 40 years. He was a fixture on the coffeehouse circuit in the late ‘60s and early ‘70s. His band 'The New Viper Revue' pushed the genre envelopes of blues, folk, country, rock 'n' roll and jazz from 1972 -1976. Jack resumed his solo career in 1977, then teamed up with reed player Al Oliveira in 1983, as half of “The World’s Smallest Big Jazz Band.”

SUMMER CIRCLES SERVICES AT NSUU - 2023

This summer, NSUU is trying something different than in past years. Rather than scheduling summer services, this year we hope to gather in “Summer Circles.” These are designed to blend some basic Sunday service elements with a group discussion centered around a topic of the presenter’s choice.

There are eight (8) available summer Sundays. We will have as many Summer Circles as we have volunteers to lead them. And so, we need to know in advance who may wish to help facilitate, and on which Sunday they would like to do so.

Please note: With limited exceptions these Summer Circles will be held IN-PERSON ONLY. This will allow our hard-working technical team to have a bit of a summer break. If Zoom participation can be coordinated for a given service, it will be offered also.

Please email your proposed service description to the church office (NSUU@verizon.net) and to Jennifer Revill (Religious Services Committee) (jenrevill@aol.com) on or before June 15, 2023 so that it can be included in the summer newsletter and Good Things Are Happening. Be sure to include the date for your service along with your title and description.
