************************** ************************* Want to keep Let's Do Trivia! at your favorite restaurant?
We exist in restaurants because we draw larger crowds than they would normally expect during our day and times than if we weren't there.
We work with restaurant management to carefully select the details including food and/or drink specials to make Let's Do Trivia night the best it can be. The venue not only pays our fee, they also pay for and provide the prizes you win. Seems obvious, right? (Here comes the "but".)
BUT... if their sales at the end of the night  are underwhelming or if members of their staff complain about our events, there's no guarantee your favorite game will remain at your favorite spot to play!
Part 1: Tipping
Not everyone can afford to eat out and we certainly don't want this to prevent a person from enjoying a great evening with friends at our events. Our suggestion is this: If you can afford to patronize our host venues, please do! General tipping rules on bills over $10 per person are: <10% = extremely poor service 10% = barely adequate service 15% = good service 20% = great service >20% = I used to wait tables and know how hard you must work to keep your job in a competitive field and earn a decent living.
If you are on a tight budget and are drinking free refills all night, that's great, but you shouldn't be tipping on a percentage of your bill if it is low. If your bill is under $5 you should, at the least, double it as your appreciation.
 Remember, you've been taking up a seat for 2 to 3 hours and the server has been running about taking care of your team and others that whole time. In most restaurants the servers must share their tips with bartenders, bus-staff and hostesses or they may even 'pool' tips which are divided later.
The happier the management is with sales and the staff is with tips during our events, the longer we'll be coming back to bring you a great evening with friends!

Nice to see a packed house at Abbott's again, welcome back. Out of the gate it was Pete and Repeat in control with a near perfect first round only falling short on the musical bonus. Nipping at their heels was our house team Fireballs only one point behind and tied with Elliotts. Yet again a point behind them was Florence Nightingales a team that was here last week, but opted out of playing, but returned this week to partake in the fun.
At the end of regulation play we had Fireballs move into the top slot, followed by Came in the back door, and We're here 4 the beer. Pete and Repeat dropped to 4th place setting up an interesting final question scenario.

Shubtitles came out of the gate hot, they picked up the O.T.B. extra point blew through the first two rounds and then fell asleep...I think, something like that. ANYWAY, at the half IDK in the lead, Shubtitles 2nd, Applebuddies 3rd, A Bear That Knows Kung Fu 4th, and Last Place was in...well, no need to be redundant.
The Applebuddies pulled ahead in the second half, and were poised to take the trophy and have the largest inflated prize in the venues HISTORY.

Greetings and salutations from Arena's Deli & Bar, as we race to play Let's Do Trivia before the spectre of Memorial comes to slay us all.
Seven teams rolled into Rehoboth for Family Night (free Kids Entree for each adult entree purchased), a notion the wildly profane Craig of the universally despised Team 2 Be Reckoned With had trouble processing. Several flustered apologies later, and we were off with our game.
The whole world was tospy turvy at the half, as newcomers Cloud Party and corporate spy Don't Trust Whitey held back the house team of Med's Heads and the insufferably smug Team 2 Be Reckoned With. As usual, the second half deflated my dreams of deflating the aforementioned Team 2, and they closed the gap to the point where they were down a mere two points on the House Team.
The final question proved to be the ultimate arbiter, and Team 2 Be Reckoned With raced ahead for the win, defacing the trophy in the process. Med's Heads finishing second means that, for the second straight week, an INFLATED PRIZE of $50 awaits our winner in this, the final Let's Do Trivia event before Memorial Day weekend! Be there or pay for parking the next time!

INFLATED FIRST PLACE PRIZE $90!!
Well as you can see the house team took first... but only after a very interesting turn of events. It was a difficult game with 3 do over busters and not a single team even approaching a perfect game. But in the end it was an odd wager that created the tie. Bulls is Nice was a mere two points down at the final and thru mastodonic brain power and a spritzer of luck they managed to come up with the correct answer... but wagered exactly two points. Meanwhile the house team was as clueless as Blue trying to find a paw print alone, so they went with a whole lot of nothing. After a tie breaker question in which the house team managed to do ever so slightly not as awful as the Bulls on, we have our current $90 first place prize! So come on out Wednesday for some sweet action, great beer specials, and a bunch of fun teams!

Some of the usual suspects were in attendance last Thursday night at Carney's Pub, but we have been missing several others! Team 5! Where are you? What about Schmeam? Hmmm??? Have a mini-schmeam and forget all about Let's Do Trivia, huh? I haven't forgotten you, Masters! We had fun without you guys, but we do miss you all!
At Halftime, Yo'Mama was in the lead, followed by I Own A Beagle and Cheers 4 Beers.
In the end, just one team got the Final Answer correct AND bet, taking Yo'Mama into the lead for the very first time! Congratulations and $30 went to them, in addition to the trophy. I Own a Beagle (BL) came in second for the $10 win, and Cheers 4 Beers rounded out the winners circle with a $5 win.

Another all-veteran lineup! Usual Suspects, Team Tuna, Margaritaville, For the Love of God Shut Your Mouth, MBTS Mob (returning champs), The Crazies, Rejects, One With Knowledge, Three's Company and Eclat hit the Tuna last Wednesday.
So we know our movie mamas! Lots of points at the half for everyone! Usual Suspects hit the half time perfect score mark. But box office gross, well, that's always a rough one. Nobody got it right, lots of safety bets had Usual Suspects and For the Love of God Shut Your Mouth tied for second place, and Usual Suspects got one year closer to the pin on the tiebreaker, earning the $25, and The MBTS Mob came up with the win! That is two in a row - going for three this week. You gonna go for the block? See you Wednesday and see if they can get the coveted yet elusive hat trick!

Doing my best not to have a repeat of my last time substitute-hosting for Rich, I came to Fraizer's with no illusions and nothing short of a desire to serve up one tasty game of Let's Do Trivia!
Fifteen teams made my manual style of scorekeeping a challenge but I managed pretty well.
Team X led the battle of wits at halftime last week as The Men Are Drivin' Cuz The Women Are Gettin' Hammered and Lost Cause were hot in pursuit at just one point back and tied up in 2nd place.
The Nacho Prize went to the best Team Name this evening which was won by Drunk Again and Looking To Score.
Team X was able to run the regular rounds all the way into the final question but only added 1 point to their lead making this a photo-finish. Bingo Wings managed to climb into the 2nd place spot pushing Lost Cause out of their tie with Men Are Drivin'.
Between strategic wagering and a mish-mash of correct answers, the final was a shocker as 13th place Sgt. Rhino made a diving leap into the money!

REMINDER: If you are on your cell, it looks bad. Come on and take a break from the phone for a couple hours.
Our in-house Frazier's Trivia Tournament of Champions on Sunday, August 4th.. To qualify you would have to have finished 1st between January 1 and July 31. Also, if you finish 2nd or 3rd any night, your team will be put in a drawing to fill any empty slots. There will be CASH PRIZES awarded. So, with all that in mind, one of the rules we will be stressing will be the "cell phone" rule. Use of your cell phone during the game "may" keep you from qualifying for the tournament; so, start your detox and break the cell phone use urges.

Great Game and a great night for the trivia folks who came out to Green Turtle Salisbury.
The first half seemed interesting and the scores reflected tight game as 5 teams were tied for first and 3 teams were tied for third, WOW!
The second half spread the teams out a bit, Teams Greens and 6-pack kept me laughing all night.
The Final question was had by most teams but wagering became critical this propelled team Hammer Down into first.

Great Game and a great night for the trivia folks who came out to Grottos Grand Slam.
The first half seemed interesting and the scores reflected a even spread from 20 to 39 with Team 10-2 holding onto that score of 20.
The second half had some teams rising and other falling team Greying Anatomy lost a spot or two, where as team Old Baltz climbed two spots.
The Final question was had by most teams but wagering became critical this wagering hurt the team Transplants and team For the Birds, but it help teams 10-2 and Old Balz.
In the end Teams We Taped Survivor swap places with team Split Personalities.

We had a newbie team playing along with 8 teams of regulars for another exciting night. Welcome, Team Tom!
Just 10 points separated last from first place at the halftime with Yeah, Buddy in the lead followed closely by a tied up pair of teams just one point back; Team Eight and Leave It To Cleavage.
But it's always that second half that can get all squirrely on ya, isn't it?
Going into the final question Team Eight corrected my math to take the lead from Yeah Buddy who was just 1 point back while Timothy's Resurrected and Wild Herons tied up to sit in the third place spot.
With no correct answers to the Final Bonus, it boiled down to wagering to declare a winner.

Stop & Think, Blue Moon, Team Ted, Devil's Rejects, T-Squared and Polar Bears gathered in the freshly face-lifted Smitty McGee's last week. It looks so bright and happy in there. The colors are great, new light fixtures are calm and hip, and the chairs are now out getting painted and re-padded. It is looking great in here, come check it out!
This game as all over the map - talk about neck - and - neck! Everyone had the lead spot at some point! Devil's Rejects took command and the lead early! Team Ted pulled ahead of them by one point going into the final, Blue Moon got ir right and earned second place and the $15, and Stop & Think got the game win and the $100 double-prize!

Plenty of friendly faces for the Wednesday Let's Do Trivia Event for Stoney Lonen in Long Neck, and not just because I have a wallet full of school pictures from my kids.
The usual suspects were on hand for Let's Do Trivia this week, and most teams were hoping for an unusual result, as LSD has been holding the trophy 2 of the last four games. A perfect first round for all the teams led into a second round we'd all like to forget, as we burned out the do-overs before the half had ended. Despite a strong push from Connecticut Connection and eventual 2nd place winner Heron Bay, no one could keep the taste of LSD out of my mouth, and they won for the third time in five weeks.

Similar Teams but different VIBE last week. Sometimes I feel like a blind man at a Speed Dating Event.
Anywho... Tough game, especially for cry babies. Room 208, a duo sitting in plain sight at the bar, were in the lead at halftime while Last Week's Champions Moldy Oldies were 1 point behind them in 2nd and The Rejects were close by in 3rd. Rejects ended up a full team despite arriving in spurts... I'm sure there's a joke there somewhere. Going into the final it became clear there was no sex drugs or rock-n-roll to be had. After correcting a bad tally, the order was identical to the halftime as we went into the final question except that Room 208 had increased their lead on 2nd place by another 2 points, not exactly a comfortable lead in this game. Would Moldy Oldies retain their hold on the Champion's Trophy? Would Room 208 invite everyone out to Room 208 for an after-party? Would the wedding group spill a drink on me? Only one of those questions will be answered below. What a great venue for me to host my first trivia game.. Special thanks to Kyle and Colleen for their help.
The House team Fat Kids Are Harder to Kidnap was going strong at the half time.. a flood of people at the half time left us with 3 more teams for the last half of the game.. and a 2nd group of people in round 6 had the house team running drinks and not answers.. still finishing strong in 7th place over all. With the house team out that left the Five Non Blonds easily pull out the victory in the end.
