TUSD's Elementary Girls Volleyball season finished with a fantastic display of excitement and energy on the court as young athletes from Ladera, Nelson, Peters Canyon, and Tustin Memorial competed in the finals. After an afternoon of outstanding play from all four teams, Peters Canyon finished in the top spot. The season was filled with an impressive display of sportsmanship and enthusiasm as students from across the district competed on teams from many TUSD elementary schools. A huge thank you to our dedicated coaches and Ladera's Jay Warren, who leads this effort. Their work makes this unique opportunity possible for all of our elementary girls.

At Sycamore Magnet Academy, students honored beloved departed family and friends through celebration of Día de los Muertos. Students placed photos on a large ofrenda, including student-made altars dedicated to lost loved ones. The ofrenda was a campus-wide effort, with each grade contributing elements from sugar skulls and candles to papel picado, paper flowers and art mats. This year's celebration was the greatest of all, having continued to grow through the support of the SMA community, staff and families.

Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, is a tradition that honors the memories of loved ones who have passed. It’s a celebration of life, filled with vibrant colors, marigolds, candles, and meaningful altars where the offerings honor those beloved that we have lost. It was wonderful to see our SMA community come together in remembrance and celebration.

Let's Go! The TPSF Dino Dash Run and Ride for Education is this weekend - Sunday, November 3. If you have already signed up, see our volunteers at DICK'S Sporting Goods on Saturday between 11AM and 5PM to pick up your race day gear, or stop in at the registration booth Sunday starting at 5:30AM.
