CT Named AVID National Demonstration School

Columbus Tustin Celebrated as AVID National Demonstration School

Columbus Tustin Middle School has been announced as an AVID National Demonstration School. AVID National Demonstration Schools are exemplary models of the AVID College Readiness System. Demonstration Schools undergo a rigorous validation process and are required to be revalidated every few years to ensure high levels of implementation, with quality and fidelity to AVID strategies schoolwide. Columbus Tustin is one of only 61 schools in the state and 211 nationwide to receive this distinction. This week, members of the Board of Education and Cabinet joined CT staff and students to celebrate the announcement. Congratulations Bulldogs!

TPSF

Multiple Opportunities for TUSD Students through TPSF

Last chance! TUSD secondary students have several great opportunities available through the Tustin Public Schools Foundation. Don't delay, applications close on March 1st.

The 2024 Dino Dash original logo contest is open to all TUSD middle and high school students. Formal art classes are not needed, but be sure to follow the application guidelines to have your design highlighted throughout the community on tee shirts, posters, pins and more, as well as win $500 cash for both you and your school.

Students entering or attending a TUSD high school this fall can apply to be a volunteer intern for the TPSF Summer Academy. Interns will work alongside TUSD teachers in a variety of enrichment classes and age groups while receiving leadership training and mentorship in addition to volunteer hours. Interviews and training will proceed the four-week half-day program that starts June 10 and is hosted at Orchard Hills School.

As graduation day nears, TUSD seniors are encouraged to apply for one or more of the dozens of scholarships TPSF administers. Look for the best fit of interests and next steps after high school. Short applications and brief essays are easy to complete, with school-specific or District-wide awards available.

Applications for all of these opportunities can be found at www.tpsf.net and must be submitted by March 1.
