In celebration of Read Across America, Tustin Unified elementaries welcomed special guests to campus to share their love of reading. From Irvine and Tustin Police Departments and Orange County Fire Authority to our Board of Education and members of our administrative team, along with Ms. California, Miss Tustin and the Tustin-Santa Ana Rotary, our classrooms were host to a variety of readers all eager to share their passion for books with students. Thank you to all of the staff and students that took part in welcoming readers onto campuses and for continuing to bring this celebration to our students.

Today, March 8, the Tustin Host Lions, Santa Ana Host Lions and OC Central Lions will come together to sponsor a free vision screening and recycled glasses event for the community. Open to all ages at Century High School from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., the event will give attendees the chance to have a vision screening to assess for ocular health concerns and provide a useable pair of recycled eyeglasses. We are excited to share an additional scholarship opportunity with TUSD seniors. We strongly encourage our seniors to consider applying.

Dollars for Tustin Scholars Scholarship Program: Dollars for Tustin Scholars is awarding four $6,000 scholarships, provided annually for four years ($1,500/year). These are the highest scholarships offered in TUSD. To qualify, students must be high school seniors in the Tustin Unified School District, graduating this spring, planning to start college by 2025, having at least a 3.0 GPA, community service experience, and financial need. Applications are available online and are due April 12 at 5 p.m. 

As a reminder, Barbara Benson Memorial Scholarships are due March 10 and Gerry Aust High School Scholarships are due ​March 28.

Enjoy a special community evening at the TPSF Golf Classic and Auction Reception on March 13. The fun will be at the Strawberry Farms Golf Club starting at 5 pm with hosted food and drinks, games, awards, silent auction display, Fund-A-Need for Summer Academy scholarships, and a live auction featuring exclusive dining experiences and unique getaways.
