Lammers Trailer Repair fulfills a dream
They had dreamed of their own repair shop, but the stars were never quite aligned. A recommendation from a banker directed prospective owners Danielle and Tracy Lammers to the Nebraska Business Development Center in Wayne. "One day everything just started falling into place," says Danielle. With consultant Loren Kucera's help preparing loan applications and cash flow projections, the Lammers opened for business in June, 2018.

Loren Kucera has been the NBDC Wayne Center director for over 23 years. As a business consultant, Kucera specializes in loan packaging. He serves in leadership positions with various rural economic development organizations. He received his MBA from the University of South Dakota.

Navigator Coaches solicits government contracts 
A nationwide charter and motor coach bus service headquartered in Norfolk is licensed to operate in all states and provinces in North America. The business employs more than 45 drivers and 15 staff. With the help of Dick Uhing, NBDC government contracting specialist (PTAC), company owner Don Oberle is successfully navigating the lucrative world of government contracting.
Angela and Luis Gonzalez  wanted their three children to grow up bilingual. When they could not find the style of program they wanted in this area, they realized that other families might have similar needs. With help from NBDC consultant Umeda Islamova, the couple launched a unique preschool in Lincoln to equip children to speak English and Spanish.
NBDC Chadron office supports high school student competition

This year over 100 students from western Nebraska high schools will compete in the West Business Invitational on January 30, 2019 at Chadron State College (CSC). The NBDC team is working with Jennifer Davidson, state director, Nebraska Council on Economic Education (NCEE); Josh Hinrichs, NCEE field representative; and CSC to administer the competition. NBDC GA Spencer Rien will participate in a Q&A panel about the college and higher education.
