FTR 5K Walk/Run for Recovery
Join us for our first-ever 5K Walk/Run for Recovery!

When: Saturday June 5, 2021. Race time starts at 10:00 am sharp. Arrive by 9:30 am.
Where: At Fit To Recover. Please park in the Riley Elementary
parking lot west of Fit To Recover (1410 S 800 W).
How: For $25 you can join the fun, earn a custom T-shirt, eat and vibe with our amazing recovery community. The big ask is that you come—help us celebrate continued steps on our road to recovery, and above all come have fun! Sign up as an individual, or create your own group and ask your friends and family to walk/run.
Please register by May 14 to get your event T-shirt in time for the race.
Why: This past year has been been especially difficult for people in recovery. Help us celebrate continued steps on our road to recovery, and above all come have fun!
Safety: We will adhere to recommended guidelines from the CDC at the time of the event to help keep you and your family safe. We will have hand sanitizer available and recommend you continue to wear a mask and practice social-distancing during the event. The race will be staggered in 2-minute intervals to ensure social-distancing along the course.

Do Good Feel Good with Mark Miller Subaru
It's the 13th Annual Do Good Feel Good Event

In the market for a new car? Consider buying/leasing a new Subaru with Mark Miller Subaru during their Do Good Feel Good Event. During this event, which runs from May 1 - May 31, Mark Miller Subaru will donate $75 to one of their Loves Promise Partners including Fit To Recover.

Help Fit To Recover win $1,500.00!! And earn prizes too!!

During the month of May, visit Mark Miller Subaru's Facebook voting page to vote for Fit To Recover as your favorite Love Promise charity partner. The top three charity partners with the most votes at the end of the contest will win a cash donation prize from Mark Miller Subaru (1st place: $1,500.00, 2nd place: $1,000.00, 3rd place: $500).

Each week Mark Miller Subaru will select a random voter to win a special prize as our way of saying 'thank you' for supporting their Love Promise charity partner ($50 Maverick gas card, tickets to Hale Centre Theatre, Megaplex gift basket, and more)! This week’s winner (May 3-7), vote for FTR and win a pair of Hale Centre Theatre tickets to the sold out play of Les Miserables w/ dinner in their Founder’s Club (this is for the May 21st, 7pm show.. tickets are non-transferable for other plays or dates).
Member Spotlight
We want to give a huge shout out to FTR member, Scott! He has been coming to FTR since 2018, and even though he lives out of state, Scott always shows up to class when he’s in town. He is a solid member of the community and always brings positive energy. Scott has also donated 5 memberships each month to support other members here at the gym. We love you, Scott, and are grateful you are a part of our community. Thank you for supporting the community from afar!
FITNESS
FTR is Back in Park City!

Starting May 26, join us Wednesday Nights from 5:30 - 6:30 pm at the PC Marc for the FTR PC Recovery Class. Classes will run through the summer and will be held outside to accommodate social-distancing protocols. Meet up every Wednesday at 4:30 pm at FTR to carpool to Park City or meet us at the PC Marc.

Meet Alex
We'd like to welcome Alex Richardson to our coaching team! Alex has been a part of the FTR community for quite a while and is an amazing human being. Alex brings a lot of training experience, amazing energy and a love for this community. Welcome Alex!
New Climbing Class
Interested in bouldering on the FTR climbing wall? Join us Wednesdays at 10:30 am to learn how to scale the wall with Marci Warner. Marci is the reason we have the amazing FTR climbing wall, and we are so excited to welcome her back as part of the FTR Team!
New Meditation Class

Join us every Sunday at 12:30 pm for a Meditation Class taught by FTR member, Mikelle Poulson. All levels are welcome. Come de-stress and connect.

NUTRITION
New Nutrition Challenge starts this Month

We are offering a 30-Day Nutrition Challenge starting Monday May 17th until June 14th. The goal of this challenge is to build upon the healthy eating practices we covered in the nutrition component of the 6-week Wellness Challenge from the beginning of the year. In those nutrition classes, we covered topics like the basics of nutrition with regard to macro and micronutrients, creating balance within our meals, performance nutrition, and meal planning. Even if you did not attend, you can absolutely still participate in this nutrition challenge! We will release more details regarding challenge parameters in the coming week, but note that the premise of this challenge will not be restriction-based, but rather inclusion-oriented when it comes to food intake. All challenge participants will receive: an accountability journal, challenge t-shirt, weekly group nutrition classes, accountability teams, Facebook support and updates, and eligibility for raffle prizes. You can sign up with Kate at the front desk or on our sign-up sheet at the gym. The cost is $15.

Have you listened to the

FTR created a podcast which explores and celebrates the individuals in our community through experiences within fitness, nutrition, creativity, and service.

In the latest episode, artist thinkbenjamin and multi-decade Music Therapist Tony Ollerton, MA, SCMT, MT-BC chat about the pros and cons about smoking after workouts and hype the upcoming Deeply Rooted Concert, to be held Saturday June 26.

COMMUNITY SERVICE
Interested in joining the CAB?

Attention FTR members! We are looking for members to serve on our Community Advisory Board (CAB). Our CAB is composed of community members that volunteer their time, service, and experience to help grow and shape FTR. The CAB's perspective provides valuable insight and direction on how FTR's staff can better serve the community.

Using our HappyOrNot terminals, we asked our members "Did this class help your sobriety?" and 97% said YES, that FTR classes help with their sobriety.

When asked, "why did this class help with your sobriety", here is what our members said:
