Hafa Adai Catherine,

It was a grand celebration last Saturday as we commemorated our Chamber's 98th Anniversary along with members celebrating their own milestone anniversaries of service to our island community. We also inducted a new Laureate into the Guam Business Hall of Fame - Congratulations to Joey Crisostomo, President of Cars Plus! Professional photos will soon be available - stay tuned to this space for links!

I wanted to especially recognize Ernie Galito, Gala Planning Chairman, the planning committee, the Hyatt Regency Guam and the Chamber Team for executing such a memorable event!

We have been working on a series of small business seminars as a result of our flash crime survey. Last week, the Guam Police Department, provided helpful tips and information that will not only support businesses but can assist law enforcement officers should a crime occur. The next seminar installments will help businesses know, identify and understand when an employee or customer is under the influence and what services are available to support recovery efforts. We will be announcing dates and speakers soon.

Nominating Committee Chairwoman, Christine Baleto, announced at this week's general membership meeting that the Nominating Committee is seeking nominations from among the membership to run for the Chamber Board. There will be nine (9) seats available in 2023, seven (7) seats are three-year voting seats and two (2) seats are one-year, non-voting seats. Members interested in learning more about Chamber Board duties and service are encouraged to scroll down this message for details.

We thank Rear Admiral Benjamin Nicholson for a comprehensive talk as guest speaker at our membership meeting this week. Members that missed the meeting can access a recording of his talk here.

October signifies that we are rapidly heading to the end of the year. I honestly don't know how this year flew by but what I do know is that we have so much more to do to get where we need to be. Glad to be on the bandwagon with you!

Onward Together,

Catherine Castro

President
