WE CARE ABOUT EACH OTHER AND WHAT IS HAPPENING IN NORTHERN WISCONSIN!

Good Bye and Thank You!
After serving the ALS Support Group for 5 1/2 years, Julie Chamberlain will be relinquishing her position as Outreach Nurse. Work and family obligations have made it necessary for Julie to end her work with us.  We want to give her a sincere THANK YOU for the endless hours she has given to our group, our PALS and their families.  Julie has faithfully served by taking new referrals, doing home visits and phone calls, assisting with handling of equipment, purchasing supplies and co-facilitating the monthly support Group, among other duties.

Julie would like to thank the Board Members, especially noting Lucia Schone, Jennifer Binczak & Deb Erickson.  Their continued encouragement has always been a comfort.

Julie says, "My time with the ALS Support Group has always been a blessing. Having shared in your challenges and heartbreak, I am humbled by the people who have shared their lives with me after receiving the ALS Diagnosis."

"I leave the group in excellent hands."

"God Bless You."

Sally (Krohn) Sweet will be returning to the group.  Sally and Lew Neff started our support group 25 years ago. Sally left the group in 2004 when she got married and moved to Troy, NY.

Sally is returning to the group now and will be helping with the ALS Newsletter, Facebook and Webpage Management.  Sally will also be assisting Donna in facilitating the support group meetings.

The NW WI ALS Support Group has been a unique group since its inception 25 years ago.  While a percentage of members attend the monthly group meetings, other members join us through home visits, phone calls, newsletters, walk-a-thon, etc... The group includes newly diagnosed PALS, PALS who are living with ALS, (one, as long as 30+ years), caregivers, friends, grieving family members who have lost loved ones to ALS and others who simple want to support others going thru the struggles of life with ALS.

You may be surprised that while monthly meetings may include educational components and sharing of struggles, sorrows and heartache, they also include much laughter and celebration of life. (Along with drinking coffee and eating of good treats!)

Thanks for being a part of our support group.  If or when you are able, come join us at the Chippewa Valley Bible Church in Chippewa Falls the second Thursday of every month at 1 p.m. (EXCEPTION:  No meeting in June, instead we will be at our yearly ALS Walk-n-Wheel-a-thon at the Northern Wisconsin Fairgrounds on Sunday, June 11. )

DON"T MISS THE WALK!   Click here for more information.

Sincerely,

Sally Sweet
