| | Sister Josita Colbert, SNDdeN Recognized for Leadership | | |
Congratulations to Sister Josita Colbert, SNDdeN! She was recently recognized by the Center for the Study of Consecrated Life (CSCL) for her longtime commitment to the Center and its mission. She is currently working on a CSCL project titled "Moving Along the Arc: Women and Men Religious as Agents of Reconciliation and Transformative Action Toward a More Racially Just Church and World."
"As a dedicated leader in her own terms, Sister Josita has been instrumental in changing the dynamics of the racial divide with her transformational leadership skills," says Sister Chioma Ahanihu, SLW director of the Center. Sister Josita was among the honored guests at a gala in November to mark CSCL's 10th anniversary.

Advent Reflection from the Anti-Racism Team
Sister Anne-Louise Nadeau, SNDdeN, a member of the SNDdeN U.S. Anti-Racism Team (ART), shares a thoughtful reflection on Advent.

Strengthening Futures: A New Path to Emmanuel College
Emmanuel College, in Boston, is deepening its commitment to accessible, values-based education through a new partnership with 15 Catholic high schools across Greater Boston. Beginning in fall 2026, the Saints Catholic Connection Guarantee will offer eligible students assured admission and merit scholarships—opening broader pathways for young people educated in Catholic schools to continue growing in faith, leadership, and academic excellence. Among the participating schools are four sponsored ministries of the U.S. East-West Province of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur: Academy of Notre Dame–Tyngsboro, Notre Dame Cristo Rey High School, Notre Dame Academy Hingham, and Notre Dame Academy Worcester.

Honoring Our Lady of Guadalupe
On December 12, the Notre Dame Long Term Care Center, Worcester, Massachusetts, dedicated their renovated chapel to Our Lady of Guadalupe on her feast day, reminding those who pray there of the enduring love, mercy and compassion of Mary, the mother of God.
St. Julie Billiart held a special devotion to Our Lady of Guadalupe, and this dedication continues that spirit, offering a sacred space of comfort, hope and welcome for all who enter.

Immersion Program Coming in 2026
Women ages 20+ are encouraged to apply for a two-week-long immersion program designed to promote justice for and with the community of creation. Through the lens of Laudato Si' and Laudate Deum, Laudato Seeds of Change will explore the intersection of faith, ecology and social justice, and prepare you to become stewards of creation in your own community.
Location: Notre Dame Spirituality Center – Ipswich, Mass.

Sister Elaine McTaggart, SNDdeN
We thank God for the life of Sister Elaine McTaggart, SNDdeN who completed her earthly journey on November 27, 2025, at the age of 94 after 77 years as a Sister of Notre Dame de Namur.
Sister Elaine graduated with a bachelor’s degree in English from Emmanuel College in 1962, and later earned a master's in mathematics and a certificate in counseling. She was a beloved teacher, principal and tutor for 59 years, including 25 years teaching math at St. Gregory High School in Dorchester, Massachusetts.
May Sister Elaine now rest in the loving presence of our good God.
