Up to 1,000 Ukranian and 300 Haitian children have been resettled to the Chicopee, Mass., area, seeking refugee from the turmoil in their homelands. The Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, together with our Associates, Sisters of Mercy, and area churches, have organized a collection of new fall and winter clothing for these children, ranging from three months to high school-age teenagers.
In addition to warm clothing for the coming cold, they will collect diapers, toys, gift cards to Kohl's and Target, toiletries, and other essential supplies.
If you are in the area, please consider dropping off donations at the Julie House at 425 Poquonock Ave., Windsor, CT, 06095.
