Gallery in the Pines in the McQueen Gallery in May
These Paintings were completed by several students from Sudbury, Wayland, Sherborn and Concord and who study under the teachings of Tracy Wesinger, owner/operator of Gallery in the Pines in Hudson.
At the studio, children are required to follow the curriculum put forth; where they will study masters to learn how to do well done original work.
Most will participate in the oldest and largest national art contest in the United States; The Scholastic Art and Writing Awards.
In December kids compete with over 15,000 students across Massachusetts for the regional portion. A percentage will receive Honorable Mentions, fewer Silver Key Awards, and a lucky few hundred Gold Key Awards.
These Gold Keys go on to compete with over 300,000 across the country for National Award Status. If they win, they travel to Carnegie Hall in New York for the Award Ceremony. Their pieces will travel across the country in an interactive exhibit for two years, including the Department of Education in Washington DC!
Students start at 8 years old, at Gallery in the Pines. More information can be found at galleryinthepines.com
