Google to Pay $68 Million Over Alleged Privacy Breaches 


Google has agreed to pay $68 million to settle a lawsuit accusing the company of violating user privacy through its Google Assistant. Claimants alleged that the assistant recorded private conversations without being activated by its wake phrase, ‘Hey Google’, and shared this data with third-party advertisers. Google has denied any wrongdoing but agreed to the settlement in order to resolve the case. The payout will be distributed among eligible users affected by the alleged recordings. UAE’s New Law Making the Internet Safer for Kids


The UAE’s new Child Digital Safety Law is designed to protect children online by preventing harm before it happens. Apps and platforms must provide under-18s with safer, age-appropriate experiences, including stronger privacy controls, content filtering, and limits on contact with strangers. Children’s data cannot be used for advertising or gambling features. Roblox Requiring Age Verification


Roblox is changing how chatting works to help keep children safer online. From now on, users must verify their age before accessing chat features, either by providing a valid ID or completing a quick facial age verification check. Players are then placed into age groups to ensure younger users are not freely chatting with older ones. For children under nine, chat will remain disabled unless a parent enables it.
