A new academic year brings much activity to campuses and communities! Football season has already started, bringing opportunities to enjoy time with friends while cheering on your team. Make the most of your pre-game experiences with these tailgating safety tips, including always having a designated driver to get everyone home safely after the game. Pace and space any alcohol consumption on game day by alternating alcoholic beverages with non-alcoholic beverages. The big win is so much sweeter when you remember the game!
September is National Recovery Month

To complement your year-round recovery support efforts, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) sponsors National Recovery Month in September! The campaign is designed to increase awareness and understanding of mental health and substance use disorders and celebrate the people who recover. SAMHSA offers a free toolkit with tips and resources for planning Recovery Month events. You can also find logos, banners, flyers, and posters to assist you in promoting Recovery Month on your campus and in your community. SAMHSA's Public Service Announcements (PSAs) for radio and TV can be used during Recovery Month and year-round as powerful tools for promoting the message that prevention works, treatment is effective, and recovery is possible. Encourage your recovery community to submit personal stories and connect with other people in recovery!
