OPENING STATEMENT

As you know, I have represented clients in commercial litigation matters for nearly 25 years. For those of you who have experienced litigation, you know that the costs can be extraordinary. Those costs are not only financial. The costs of litigation to a business (and its owners and/or operators) include opportunity costs; the costs associated with diverting your attention away from your business to address the matters being litigated; and the emotional costs of relying upon either a judge or jury to decide the fate of something important to your business.

At Gordon Law, we handle litigation differently from other law firms. First, we ensure that you are involved in every part of the strategy and execution of actions within litigation. In connection with that, we will revise our strategy throughout and make sure you understand the choices you face along with the risks and expenses of those choices. Finally, we always remember that we work for you. You have the ultimate say in the manner in which a case is litigated and we will keep you informed throughout.
DISCOVERY

I recently had a prospective client contact me about filing a lawsuit. I declined the case, not because there wasn't merit to it, but because the cost to the prospective client would be too great in consideration of the possible benefit.

I spent a great deal of time talking to him and explaining the life of a lawsuit and why, although he was right in his position, the time and money spent would give him a very costly moral victory. After I got off the phone with him, it occurred to me how important it is for you to understand the life and costs of a lawsuit. Please read HERE to learn more about the process costs associated with litigation.
IN SUMMATION

Litigation is a constant push and pull between risk and reward. We would be happy to discuss with you the merits of any potential business litigation you may have. Just as with the prospective client I talked about above, I will make sure you understand the true costs associated with your case.
