Camellia
By Sandi Lear

Original Water Colour Painting
Image: 18" x 12"
On Arches 300gsm.
water colour paper, made in France.

Sandi describes her work as allegorical representationalism, "Where the subjects are representationally painted (I am not a realist), and capture the essence of the subject that has an allegorical meaning to me, but also provides that others can ascribe their own meaning - and by merely be suggestive, they are free and invited to do so.
Lessons in life from the wild in life.

There have always been fairies at the bottom of the garden.  Every little girl knows this, but time, life, and learning somehow turns us away from this knowledge.  As with all endangered species, fairies need someone to believe in them, to nurture, to care for them.  Every fairy has its own environment, like us, in the right environment they flourish, they flit amongst the flowers of life, gaining light, strength and nourishment.  Do you believe in fairies?"

Stella View #2
By John Ross Mac Kimmie
Original Acrylic Painting.
24" x 30"

The mystery of the infinity of the cosmos has always drawn me into it. Observing the night time sky, and endless star systems is truly a wonder. This painting for me combines two concepts. The idea of exploring a subterranean cave system, whose antiquity is many millions of years old is one thing. But imagine coming upon an ancient cavern entrance and you find to your amazement, it is an opening to another dimension, another realm of worlds and place outside of time; and this "stellar view" is vastly more ancient than the "raised curtain" of the cavern opening. Consider an infinitely old place as your theater showing a view older than forever.

Shou Sugi Ban
Wall Sculptures
The Four Seasons Series:
By John Arenskov
Sold individually or as a set. Shown: 15" x 35" each
Custom dimensions welcomed.

The term "Shou-Sugi-Ban" is an ancient Japanese holistic wood burning technique.

Japanese craftsmen always looking for a finish that would also increase durability and beauty made use of all kinds of burnt wood.

Japanese craftsman looked to weathering processes to achieve that atheistic . Fire came to the rescue and provided what they needed. The heat provides a natural preservative, at the same time giving a  unique, artistic dimension.
