New coffee factory powers farmers, fuels partnerships and puts sustainability to work.
A new coffee processing plant is set to transform the coffee value chain in the Gorongosa Mountains. Located at the Gorongosa Agro-Industrial Complex, the factory is designed to boost exports, raise incomes for smallholder farmers, and anchor long-term economic growth in communities surrounding Gorongosa National Park.
Backed by €20 million from the Dutch Embassy, the factory is part of a broader sustainable development program that blends economic ambition with social impact. Beyond coffee, the initiative supports women and youth, strengthens family farming, and invests in education programs like those at Samora Moisés Machel Primary School in Púnguè.
It’s a bold recipe: restore biodiversity, empower communities, and make Gorongosa coffee a force for prosperity—locally rooted, globally connected. Learn more.
