Sunday's Service

We are delighted to welcome Dr. Dan Meyer as our 2026 Distinguished Preacher this Sunday, October 4.

Dr. Meyer's sermon is entitled "The Carpenter's Work." The scriptures from which the message flows are Matthew 5:21-26 and Romans 12:18.

Dr. Meyer is a gifted preacher, author, and was the longtime lead pastor of Christ Church Oak Brook. He’s known for his thoughtful biblical preaching and ability to connect the gospel with everyday life.

Beyond the church, he’s served as Trustee Board Chairman at Fuller Seminary and as host of LIFE FOCUS, a multiple Emmy Award-winning television news-magazine, which aired on PBS and other stations nationwide.

We look forward to welcoming Dr. Meyer to First Pres Wheaton and gathering together for a special morning of worship, encouragement, and proclamation of God’s Word. You won’t want to miss this Sunday!

Blessing of the Animals This Sunday

Blessing of the Animals
Sunday, October 4

2:00 p.m. on the church lawn

Francis of Assisi first blessed animals early in his ministry sometime between 1210-1215, and we will carry on this tradition. All animals and humans are invited to attend this special service, where we will be witnesses to God’s love and concern for his cherished creations. A short group service will be held, followed by a blessing line for those who would like their pet to receive a personalized blessing.

Note: Animals must be on leash or in appropriate carriers for the safety of all.
