Dear Tournament Directors,
As you should know, MSYSA is transitioning to the new GotSport registration system for the 2021/22 Seasonal Year. If you use the current GotSoccer "Legacy" system to run your tournament, this will mean switching to the new platform as well. Tournaments that have been sanctioned for the Fall 2021 Season can choose to utilize either the old GotSoccer Legacy system or the new GotSport platform for their event this fall. However, keep in mind that all official rosters for the Fall 2021 season for MSYSA-affiliated clubs & teams will be administered in the new GotSport system. Rosters, passcards, risk management, and other related information will not be available or maintained in the old Legacy system for the 21-22 season. All tournaments who use GotSoccer/GotSport for tournament administration should plan to use the new GotSport platform for the next tournament cycle in 2022. If you do not currently use GotSoccer for your tournament, and have no interest in trying it out, you may disregard the rest of this email.
If you have not yet attended (or viewed) the GotSport Club training sessions offered so far, you can watch recordings of each session below. Phase 2 may not be as beneficial to tournament directors as it focuses more on registration, but I have included it should you want to take a look.
Another helpful resource is the GotSport Support articles that provide how-to instructions and answer questions on a variety of topics. When clicking on the link above, you will notice that there is a section specifically for "Event Directors" that includes about 25 resources for event-related help, including tournaments. The article entitled “Creating a Tournament Competition/Event” is a great place to start.
For those who do not yet have a GotSport account, these should be created by your respective club administrators as they begin to build out your club’s teams, team officials, and players in the new GotSport system. Note: your login credentials from the Legacy system will not work in GotSport. Each person will have a single account in GotSport, which is tied to a unique email address. If you have multiple roles within a club (and/or with multiple clubs), your single account can be set up to give you the appropriate access needed for each of those roles. If you are a club administrator and do not have access to your GotSport club account, please contact stateoffice@michiganyouthsoccer.org for assistance.
