IBA Memo
Information Update on COVID-19 Crisis
UPDATED BELOW

Dear IBA Members:

Today, Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb OFFICIALLY EXTENDED the statewide Executive Order (20-08) that was set to expire at 11:59 pm April 6, 2020 to April 20, 2020.

The extended Executive Order will continue to include housing construction as “essential infrastructure” as well as “critical trades” as “Essential Business & Operations”.

However, I would encourage all members to read the new Executive Order (link below) and adhere to the “social distancing” requirements and be aware of the “enforcement” provisions that have been added to the Order on pages 10-12.

A link to the Executive Order is below and is also available on our COVID-19 web page at buildindiana.org/covid-19/

The extended Executive Order is not a mandate to work. The directive allows those in the construction industry the opportunity to continue to work in a safe manner. We must be vigilant to ensure that ANYONE on our job sites abides by the “social distancing requirements” and the other COVID-19 safety precautions detailed in the COVID-19 section of www.buildindiana.org . What is given can easily be taken away if we do not exercise appropriate supervision and common sense.

As the COVID-19 situation evolves across our state and nation, we will continue to keep you apprised of the circumstances and provide you with resources to get through this challenging time.

Stay safe and observant!
