Gov. Rick Perry Endorses Rep. Wayne Christian For Re-election to HD 9; Set to Visit Marshall, Texas

Center, Texas - Today, Rep. Wayne Christian proudly announced the endorsement of his campaign for reelection to House District 9 (HD9) by Governor Rick Perry. This marks the third statewide conservative Republican to officially endorse his candidacy.
"Wayne is a proven social and fiscal conservative and a rural leader in the Texas House," said Governor Rick Perry. "I fully endorse Wayne for re-election and look forward to working with him again to keep Texas the leading job creating state in the Union."
"I am very proud to have the support of Governor Rick Perry in my pursuit of the Republican nomination for the new HD9," said Rep. Wayne Christian upon hearing the news. "I have been honored to plow the dirt for our Party in East Texas and have enjoyed watching our commonsense, conservative approach to governing spread throughout our part of the state. Governor Perry's support is truly an honor, as we have worked together tirelessly to keep Texas number one in job creation and economic development."
Rep. Christian is also pleased to announce that Governor Rick Perry has agreed at his request to visit Marshall, Texas shortly before noon on May 23rd to speak about his Texas Budget Compact (more details to follow).
Governor Rick Perry joins an ever growing list of endorsements for Rep. Christian's campaign, which includes other statewide Republican leaders Attorney General Greg Abbott and Comptroller Susan Combs. Wayne has also been endorsed by local Harrison County-based groups such as the Conservatives for Quality Government and VOCAL, as well as premier conservative organizations across the state such as Texas Right to Life, Texans for Lawsuit Reform, Young Conservatives of Texas, Texans for Fiscal Responsibility, the National and Texas State Rifle Associations, Texas Association of Business, and the Texas Conservative Digest. Rep. Christian is also honored by the endorsement of other conservative East Texas legislators such as Reps. Bryan Hughes, Dan Flynn, Leo Berman, and James White."
