MCC Governing Board Announces
General Conference Event for Historic Election
22 February 2019

Dear friends,

In just a few short months, we will gather for a historic General Conference and celebrate MCC’s 50 years of ministry. Many come from great distances for these triennial gatherings, and while it’s a great expense, we still come. We come together to be unified as a global movement, to worship together, to conduct business together, and to learn, laugh, and grow together.

This year we are adding to the Jubilee!

During the business meeting, delegates in the Clergy House and Lay House will vote to elect a Moderator and Governing Board members. These elected leaders belong to and serve MCC’s international denomination. We know it is important that those who elect them should be present to share in the installation of these leaders and the commemoration of that experience.

During recent months, the Intentional Transition Team (ITT) and Governing Board have met to consider the best ways to ensure a successful transition between the Interim Moderator and Moderator-Elect, and have remained mindful of MCC’s spiritual and financial needs. As a result of that partnership, the Governing Board unanimously passed Policy 11 which outlines transition dates for the Governing Board and Moderator. The policy is available at this link: https://www.mccchurch.org/governing-board/about/our-policies/ .

We are most excited to announce the Rite of Installation Service
for MCC’s third elected Moderator will be held during the final worship service
at General Conference on Friday, 5 July 2019.

The installation will bestow on the Moderator all the rights and privileges granted to them by UFMCC Bylaws: Article V.E.2 (http://bit.ly/2NiYaXH ). We will also bless MCC’s incoming Governing Board members during worship.

We hope you will share in this historic installation in Orlando, Florida, USA. Together, we will celebrate our 50 year history and dream about our future beginning with MCC's Founder, Rev. Elder Troy Perry, preaching and ending with the Rite of Installation during the closing worship service!
