Government Announcement Regarding Review of Regulatory Bodies in Alberta

Yesterday, the Government of Alberta announced their intention to conduct a review of all regulatory bodies in Alberta. You can view the announcement here.

As one of Alberta’s professional regulatory bodies, we believe this is an important conversation and look forward to participating in the review and engaging with the government and legal stakeholders through the consultation.

As noted in the announcement, the government will be gathering input from regulated professionals. Individual lawyers will have an opportunity to complete a survey. We encourage all Alberta lawyers to fully participate in this conversation through the online survey. We will circulate the survey to you once it is available.

As the regulator of the legal profession, our duty is to protect the public interest in the delivery of legal services and we are optimistic this will be reflected in the outcome of this process.

Podcast Survey

The Law Society of Alberta is seeking input from lawyers and articling students on an upcoming podcast series featuring some of the most common inquiries we receive from lawyers as well as common issues lawyers experience in their practice.

Please complete this two-minute survey to provide feedback on your interest in podcasts, potential topic areas and any additional comments.
