Legislation

Attached is PMAA’s opposition letter for HB 1213. We oppose the bill because it creates new obligations for municipal authorities to address water usage issues on private property, extending responsibilities beyond the operation of public water systems and creating unnecessary liability and costs. While supporting customer awareness and conservation, we believe our members should retain flexibility to use locally appropriate solutions rather than comply with a one-size-fits-all mandate.

This bill is up for consideration in committee next week! We strongly encourage you to send your own letter of opposition. Our letter may be used as a template for your own use.
