State Chamber Update
As the federal government shutdown continues, it’s important to recognize its impact on Delaware businesses, especially on agriculture. As one of the highest revenue drivers for the state, Delaware farmers and agribusiness have been hit hard this year with a poor growing season, a tariff situation that impacts exports of critical commodities, and now with the government shutdown impacting federal aid, there exists a trifecta of significant issues facing an incredibly important sector in Delaware.

On Wednesday, December retail sales figures are due to be released, while Thursday’s news will include weekly jobless claims and December housing starts.
