Governor DeSantis Approves Special Election for Plantation Acres

Dear Neighbors,

On Monday, June 8th, Governor DeSantis approved HB 4067 (2026) - Plantation Acres Improvement District, after unanimous support in both the Florida House and Florida Senate. This action is directly related to the Special Election for Plantation Acres voters on June 23. Our elected officials agree that we need to have choices on who to provide our flood control services.

It has been a long arduous process for the past 2.5 years with support from many residents. Please take the opportunity to vote on June 23 and ask you to please vote Yes.

We are providing the actual language on the ballot from the records of the Broward County Supervisor of Elections. One ballot with one question:

Shall Florida HB 4067 (2026) converting the Plantation Acres Improvement District from an independent district to a dependent district of the City of Plantation, and providing that the city council and the mayor of the City of Plantation shall serve as the board of the dependent district, become effective?

◻ No

This is our first chance in 63 years to change PAID from an Independent District of the State of Florida and convert it to a Dependent District of the City of Plantation for oversight and local control.
