Last week, the Commonwealth announced over $129 million in Affordable and Special Needs Housing loans. The move will "create and preserve" 5,358 units for low-income households across the state. Alexandria will receive about $13 million for various projects throughout the city. “Ensuring accessible and affordable housing for Virginians isn’t just a basic requirement, it’s a strategic pillar for our state’s continued success,” said Governor Glenn Youngkin in a press release. “By keeping homes affordable and available, we are cultivating economic growth, strengthening our communities, and laying the foundation for a thriving Virginia.” A complete list of the projects awarded can be found here.

Forbes recognizes Alexandria as a "budget-friendly, historical" destination. Described as the perfect weekend getaway for travelers, Alexandria's close proximity to D.C. and rich culture offer an action-packed adventure. The article details various attractions for readers to visit, from historical tours to taking a stroll at the oldest farmers' market in the nation located at City Hall.
