March 12, 2020

Dear Columbus Academy Families,
Conditions surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic are changing at such a rapid pace that it's almost mind-boggling to keep up. This afternoon, Governor Mike DeWine announced the closing of all K-12 schools in Ohio -- public, private and charter -- starting this upcoming Monday, March 16, and lasting through at least Friday, April 3.

Since we are waiting for further clarification on certain aspects of the Governor's announcement, we need a little more time to communicate what this all means for our students, faculty/staff and community members.

Fortunately, we have been preparing for a situation such as this and will use tomorrow's professional development day to finalize contingency plans for how our school moves forward. Please check your email inbox tomorrow afternoon and regularly throughout the next two weeks for more information.

Please act in the best interests of our entire community as we all manage these incredible and inconvenient circumstances. Over this break, we strongly encourage you to check on our fellow families and provide support for each other in what are sure to be anxious times for many.

Thank you for your patience and support,

Melissa Soderberg
Head of School
