Temporary Thrift Store Information
  Thrift Store
With the recent closing of the downtown Salvation Army Thrift Store other Thrift Stores in the area are being overwhelmed with people wishing to bring donations. While we appreciate their generosity our space is relatively limited.

If someone contacts the church about making a donation to the Thrift Store please ask them what items they may have for us. If these are things we can use, have them call Norm Hutchinson at 315-336-6517.

Remind people not to drop things off at the Devereux Street entrance. Donations should be brought inside the church and placed under the stairs by the main office. The Sexton will make sure that they are taken to the Thrift Store. Clothes should be seasonal only. No women's jeans. No electronics. Small utensils, pots and pans, dishes, any sort of baby or toddler items are things that we welcome.

Emmaus House

Emmaus House is in need of donations of socks and underwear, in all sizes, for women and children. Donations can be dropped off 1215 Kemble St., Utica, or at St. Margaret's House, 47 Jordan Road, New Hartford. Your generosity would be greatly appreciated!

St. Margaret's Food Pantry
 Food Pantry Ministry
The Food Pantry would appreciate donations of bread and spaghetti sauce.
During the months of July and August, we No Kid Goes Hungry program. Donations of breakfast bars, juice boxes, fruit cups and peanut butter and jelly would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for all your support!!

Response to the Border

If we have been listening to the news during the last few weeks and months we should be aware of the emergency on our southern border and the difficult conditions that the people who are fleeing poverty and violence in Central America are living in. As people involved in, what our Presiding Bishop calls, the Jesus Movement we should be concerned about these people. Jesus told the people who followed Him to care for the least and lost, the widows and orphans., and the strangers in their land. By extension He is telling us the same thing. If we care to help, the challenge for us is that we live several thousand miles from where the emergency is taking place. We can help however by providing money to those, both volunteer and professional, who are working on the front lines to provide aid in the form of food, clothing, and other necessities of life. The Episcopal Church has an organization, the Episcopal Migration Ministries (EMM) that is positioned to provide help. Contributions can be made to:
+ episcopalmigratiomministries.org and click on the DONATE button.
+ To donate by mail send checks to:
The Episcopal Church, 815 Second Avenue, Attn: Office of Development, New York, NY 10017
Include "Episcopal Migration Ministries" in the memo line.
+ If you would like to make a contribution over the phone call (212) 716-6271.
+ If you would like to contribute directly to a group of local volunteers in Brownsville Texas who are working directly with immigrants in that border town go to https://www.teambrownsville.org and click on the donate button. This site will explain that they provide breakfast and dinner at a bridge where many are "trapped" and also provide assistance at the local bus station for those dropped off there by the Border Petrol. This is supported by EMM.

Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by doing that some have entertained angels without knowing it.
Hebrews 13:2 (NSRV)

6
Is not this the fast that I choose:
to loose the bonds of injustice,
to undo the thongs of the yoke,
to let the oppressed go free,
and to break every yoke?
7
Is it not to share your bread with the hungry,
and bring the homeless poor into your house;
when you see the naked, to cover them,
and not to hide yourself from your own kin?
9
Then you shall call, and the Lord will answer;
you shall cry for help, and he will say, Here I am.
If you remove the yoke from among you,
the pointing of the finger, the speaking of evil,
10
if you offer your food to the hungry
and satisfy the needs of the afflicted,
then your light shall rise in the darkness
and your gloom be like the noonday.

Isaiah 58:6-7, 9-10 (NSRV)

I was sorting through some old files in the office and came across these beauties! I would like to note that I was talking to a few people about the Williams Sisters and needing some info on them and look...I asked and I received!!

Grace Church's Eucharistic Visitors

Eucharistic Visitors call on people whose status makes it difficult to attend Communion at Church regularly. A short visit by one of our Eucharistic Visitors provides an opportunity to take prayers, fellowship, and communion to those who would benefit from it. It is a connection between you, the sacrament, and the congregation. If you or someone you know you would like to arrange for a Eucharistic visit, please contact the Ministry Coordinator Arthur Durando at 315/404-1148.
