December 23, 2019
Hey, Grace’rs,
Merry Christmas from your Grace Staff. We are looking forward to celebrating the birth of Jesus with you starting tonight at 6:30 and continuing tomorrow with 4 Christmas Eve Services. It’s not too late to invite your friends!
Coming Up this weekend:

Our 2019 Christmas Season (and our 15th Christmas Season!) wraps up this weekend with our annual Grace Cookies, Carols, and Communion Christmas  Party Worship Service. All three services! In addition to cookies, carols, and communion we’ll do some fun Christmas stuff and I’ll read, as I have for 15 years, The Three Trees story. If you’ve not experienced this service before, I promise it will wrap up your Christmas season nice and tight!

Coming in January: Navigating Life in a Digital World

* January 4/5: Navigating Life in a Digital World
* January 11/12:  Navigating Family in a Digital World
* January 18/19: Navigating Kids in a Digital World
* January 25/26: Navigating Faith in a Digital World

This is a reminder that all contributions for 2019 need to be received by our office, posted online or postmarked by December 31, 2019.
The office will be closed from December 25 until January 2, so if you're making your contribution in person, you'll want to put your contribution into the offering basket on the weekend of December 28/29

If you set up a Bill Pay service with your bank, and you direct them to issue the payment to us by December 31, that will qualify as a year-end gift, even if we receive it from the bank after the first of the year. The beauty of Bill Pay is that we do not get charged a credit card fee for that like we do with online or text gifts.

For your convenience, you could do online giving by going to our website at and go to the More Tab to scroll down to Online Giving.
Or, you could use TEXT giving: (623) 295-2484. We get charged a 3% credit/debit card fee for online and text gifts.

Tax-free IRA withdrawals for charity
Anyone over 70-1/2 may take tax-free distributions of up to $100,000 from a traditional IRA if the money is distributed directly to an eligible charity. While retirees can't also take a deduction for that contribution, the money won't count as income. So it won't hurt when it comes to other taxes, such as those imposed on Social Security benefits when income exceeds a certain level.
Those contributions would be directed to:
Community of Grace Lutheran Church (Fed ID #20-2336497)
10561 W Pinnacle Peak Rd. Peoria AZ 85383

If you are a Thrivent member, you have an opportunity each year to direct your  Thrivent Choice Dollars  to  Community of Grace Lutheran Church , Peoria AZ. By directing Choice Dollars(R) through Thrivent Choice, eligible members log in ( ) and recommend where Thrivent Financial distributes some of its charitable outreach grant dollars among thousands of participating nonprofit organizations and congregations. Thrivent Choice Dollars are intended to complement, not replace, your continued personal donations. For more information, contact
Joy to the World. The Lord has come. And he has come, in grace, for you. See you at one of our Christmas Services! Merry Christmas.
