Say Yes!

In Gratitude, Generosity, and Faith

During the month of October we focus our attention on God's many blessings along with our response of gratitude, generosity, and faith. You we invite you to “say yes!” to God's call to labor in the vineyard and prayerfully consider how you might support the mission and ministry of the Church in the coming year. Pledge cards have been mailed out and are also available in the church narthex. Please prayerfully complete the card and return it to the church by November 8 with an estimate of your monetary giving for 2027. You can also make your pledge online through your Realm account.  And if you need help setting up or using your Realm account, let the church office know.  Be assured that every gift, large or small, pledged or unpledged, is greatly appreciated and handled carefully and confidentially.

Newcomer Class Begins Oct. 25

New to Grace or to the Episcopal Church? You are invited to learn more and get to know other newcomers in a special class with Fr. Charles. We'll meet in the rector's office (Pastor's Study) in the Arnold House beginning Oct. 25 and continuing through Dec. 13. We'll cover our worship, customs, and traditions and why we do what we do. This class will also serve as preparation for those who wish to receive the rite of Confirmation when Bishop Lawson visits on the evening of Dec. 13.

History of the Christian Church

Join us for this informative class for all adults, taught by William Lewis, in the parish hall beginning with snacks at 9:00 a.m. The Women's Bible Study will be taking a break during this study.

October is Clergy Appreciation Month

This month, take a moment to honor Fr. Charles, who inspires, guides, and cares for our community with unwavering faith and compassion.

Pray for his strength and resilience to lead his congregation with the grace and wisdom that we have come to know in him. Pray that God continues to equip him with knowledge to lead, guide, and bring families together to serve our Lord Jesus Christ as we walk this walk together in faith.

Notes from the Office

Paula Poynor is at home taking it easy as she anxiously awaits her upcoming surgery to replace her aortic valve on November 5th. She would be delighted to receive a text or call.

From the Willow Path (Victim Services): They have asked that NO ONE park in their parking lot any day of the week or weekend. They are forced to close the parking lot due to the sensitive nature of the facility.

If you or anyone you know parks there on Sundays or uses the Carriage House during the week, please pass this along, as it is now illegal to park there. Thank you for your understanding.

Grace Sew-ciety will not be meeting in the parish hall in October. They have a road trip planned. For more information, contact Lori McGrath or Sandy Smith.

Registration is now live for our inaugural Jingle Bell 5k and Fun Run Saturday, Dec. 12. Click the picture to register or learn more!

A Special Opportunity to help support Good Samaritan Health Clinic

Grace Episcopal Church has been an integral supporter of The Good Samaritan Health Clinic since the opening of its doors in January 2004. The clinic started with the vision of longtime Grace Deacon, Jerry Jacob, to provide quality medical care for Cullman area patients who are uninsured or under insured. We have the opportunity to continue our support by furnishing a patient exam room at their new facility in Cullman on Veterans Drive (pictured below.) If we can reach our goal of $11,000 a plaque with our church's name will go in the exam room. We have already raised $3200, but we need your help to raise the rest. To donate, email Lori McGrath or send a check to the church with Good Samaritan Fundraiser in the memo line.
