So watch yourselves. “If your brother or sister sins against you, rebuke them; and if they repent, forgive them. 4 Even if they sin against you seven times in a day and seven times come back to you saying ‘I repent,’ you must forgive them.”The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith!”
- Luke 17:3-5 -
“Offered fully furnished and turn-key…” reads the description of a recent real estate listing in Aspen, Colorado. For just $5,495,000, this 1972 condo , located in the heart of this ritzy rocky mountain town, could be all yours! Want to make payments? No problem! $32,493/mo would work. But don’t forget to budget for taxes and $1,000/mo HOA fees (not included).
One thing you won’t need to buy is furniture. Remember this condo is “fully furnished and turn-key.” Fretting about furniture shopping? Already done! Pouting about pillow shopping? No need! Custom-crafting a kitchen table? Why? It’s already there - just for you. Just turn the key on the front door of your new vacation condo, plop yourself on the comfy couch, and start living the lavish life, because your condo is fully furnished!
So it is with our faith. You might not be in the Aspen vacation market at the moment, but you might be wondering how you can forgive that person who wronged you. How can you forgive what they did to you? You need help, we need help, and in Jesus we have it. It is impossible to forgive on your own; that’s where faith comes in. Jesus makes it clear to his followers that they are to forgive, and forgive, and forgive- there is no limit to how much we should forgive, and that is possible only because Christ Jesus has forgiven us.
Rev. Peter Nafzger states,
“None of us is as faithful as we should be. None has done our duty of forgiving perfectly. We need help, and we do well to ask the One who sent us. “Give us faith.” “Increase our faith.” “Make us more faithful.” These are appropriate cries for disciples of Jesus in every age, for we all struggle against our sinful inclinations. And Jesus? He is the one who continues to come to us with grace and mercy. He continues to forgive. He continues to shape and mold us. He continues to use us to bring His forgiveness to all people, even our brothers who sin against us (many times) daily.”
We are fully furnished, turn-key, ready to go out and serve in Jesus’ name. So keep your wallet closed, Christ Jesus paid the price for the sins of the world, and gives you forgiving faith. So rest in God’s grace today, thank Him for the faith he furnishes, and forgive as he has forgiven you.
See you Sunday - I can’t wait!
Pastor Austin

Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Matthew 6:19–21

LORD JESUS, HEAL OUR LAND, OUR BODIES, AND OUR HEARTS.
Please pray for...
Andy Haffele - who has a spinal fluid leak from his previous spine surgery that will be surgically repaired in the next few days. Please pray for relief from the symptoms it causes, for wisdom and clarity for the medical teams, and for strength and peace for Andy, Kristina, and their family as they navigate their way through this set back in his recovery and incredibly challenging time.
Families in crisis - pray for God's immense love and care to wash over them in the midst of their strife and struggles. Help them to set their eyes on Jesus, and not the storm they are in.
Forgiveness - that the hearts of all people will be able to follow Christ's example of love and forgiveness in our everyday lives and with everyone we encounter. Jesus said, "Forgive as the Lord forgave you." Colossians 3:13
We pray for complete healing and recovery for those struggling
with different health and medical challenges.
Rosemarie and Andi, Jackie's mom and sister who Jackie helps care for. We pray for strength and comfort for Jackie as one of their caretakers.
John Kirchner - continued prayers for healing and comfort as he continues chemo treatment. The chemo is working!
Jerry Wiisanen, Jodie's dad - continued healing for cancer treatment and nerve damage he has experienced
Nancy Kraft - is awaiting further tests to determine additional treatment and to help determine when she can come home.
