Now on his way to Jerusalem, Jesus traveled along the border between Samaria and Galilee. 12 As he was going into a village, ten men who had leprosy met him. They stood at a distance 13 and called out in a loud voice, “Jesus, Master, have pity on us!” 14 When he saw them, he said, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went, they were cleansed. 15 One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice. 16 He threw himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked him—and he was a Samaritan. 17 Jesus asked, “Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine? 18 Has no one returned to give praise to God except this foreigner?” 19 Then he said to him, “Rise and go; your faith has made you well.” - Luke 17:11-19
After crying out to Jesus, ten men were healed of their terrible disease. Miraculous! Remarkably, even though the others did not return, they were still healed. Get this, our healing does not depend on our thanks; no, our healing depends on the ONE whom we thank, Jesus Christ our Lord, who does the healing work of salvation. Interestingly, the Greek word, a verb, used by the leper was eucharisteo, or “thanked.” Eucharisteo is the same word used by Jesus when he instituted Holy Communion in the upper room the night he was betrayed, before he died. (see Matt 26). While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, (Eucharisteo), he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is my body.”That is why some churches refer to Holy Communion as the “Eucharist.”
This week, let us praise and thank God daily for extending His mercy to the unworthy like me and like you. Let us praise and thank God for holding no grudge toward us, but instead, saving us. Sunday, let us joyfully receive the Lord’s supper and Eucharisteo together.
See you Sunday as we conclude our series Fully Fulfilled as we are ThankFULL for Jesus. -I can’t wait!

Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Matthew 6:19–21

LORD JESUS, HEAL OUR LAND, OUR BODIES, AND OUR HEARTS.
Please pray for...
Thanksgiving - Gracious and loving Father, We come before You with hearts full of gratitude. Thank You for Your steadfast love, for daily mercies we often overlook, and for the countless blessings You pour into our lives. In this season of thanksgiving, help us to pause and remember that every good gift comes from Your hand. Bless our homes with peace, our tables with provision, and our hearts with compassion for those who are in need. Teach us to live with thankful spirits—not only today, but throughout every season. May our gratitude overflow into generosity, kindness, and praise to You. We give You thanks, Lord, for Your presence with us and for the hope we have in Christ Jesus.
