July 10th, 2024

Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, saying:

“To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb

be praise and honor and glory and power,

forever and ever!”

-Revelation 5:13

Monday night, was another wonderful night at our annual camping trip at Sylvan Lake State Park.  The sights, smells, and sounds were wonderful.

I saw tents and campers lining the grassy edges of the gravel-lined roadway framed by the magnificent rocky mountains.  I saw children running, jumping, biking, and throwing balls. Some mothers were comforting their children, while fathers were untangling fishing lines.  In the distance, some men were tinkering with their campers. Nearby, was a small group of people church friends in a circle under a canopy.

The smell of a smoky campfire and freshly cooked meat filled my nostrils.  My ears were overwhelmed with a cacophony of sounds- children laughing, crying, and shouting. Adults sharing stories with friends. Beneath all the sounds was the consistent sound of the mountain stream in the background and birds chirping in the forest below.

Later, as the sun made its nightly descent, everyone began to gather around the campfire where several of our musicians were warming up their instruments and voices, preparing to lead us in worship.  No speakers, no microphones, no screens, just us.  It was beautiful.

As I was walking up to the group, I realized this was a foretaste of the feast to come with our Lord Jesus.  One day, TOGETHER, with multitudes of people from every nation, tribe, people, and language will worship Jesus, honor him, and celebrate the eternal life we have with him. What a celebration that will be!

See you Sunday as we worship our Lord together.  I can’t wait!

Pastor Austin

The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
