A Note from the Rector
Life has a way of showing you what's important.
We have all heard some version of this idea. For me, it says something powerful about how we face adversity, about how we find joy, about how we care for ourselves and others.
It's so easy to get caught up in things that pull us away from our deepest values. We are bombarded with messages about how to use our time, what we should buy, how we should look. We experience a difficult or painful situation. We end up depleted and discouraged. It's happens to all of us and it's not easy.
And then, life happens and pulls us back to reality.
Maybe you have experienced the death of a loved one. Maybe you have recently gone through a life transition, an illness, a job loss. Maybe the deadlines and bills are piling up and it all feels a little too much. Or, maybe you've got kids going back to school and your schedule is packed and you're exhausted.
In those moments, can life show you what matters most? How can you ground yourself in the things that bring meaning and joy into difficult places?
This fall, I encourage you to bring ALL OF YOU to Grace and let life unfold in God's presence. Find ways to Worship, Learn, and Care for yourself and for one another. Come back to your core values and come back to God. Because that's where we indeed learn what matters most.
Grace and Peace,
Emily+
