Father's Day

Father’s Day is Sunday, June 19, a day to honor fathers, caregivers, and guardians. At Grace Church Brooklyn Heights, we celebrate all men, with a yellow and blue boutonniere, to stand in solidarity with Ukrainian men. Boutonnieres will be available on the table in the back of the church.
FREEDOMTIDE 2022

Freedomtide is a liturgical season spanning Juneteenth to Independence Day (June 19th- July 4th). Each week, you’re invited and encouraged to read the resource provided within the context of our complicated national history. Consider: what does it mean to be free in America? What does it mean to be created free as children of God?

For more information about Freedomtide, please be in touch with Rev. Leandra Lambert at llambert@gracebrooklyn.org.

The Rector's Discretionary Fund
As the Grace Church community continues to deal with the after-effects and continuation of the COVID-19 pandemic, we would like to ask parish members to consider making an offering to the Rector's Discretionary Fund.

With this fund, the Rector is able to help those in our community when they need it most.

If you would like to contribute to this important fund, you can do so by check or via our online payment system, RealmIf you prefer to make a donation by check, they should be made out to Grace Church with "Rector's Discretionary Fund" in the memo.

Parish Prayer Concerns & Thanksgivings
That we may love our neighbors as ourselves, grow in mercy, deepen in faith, and so be moved by all of these to compassionate works. For Juneteenth, as we commemorate the emancipation of enslaved people in Galveston, Texas on June 19, 1865, and as we celebrate African-American people and cultures, and the contributions they have made to American life: we pray for an end to the bigotry and devaluation that still taint minds and hearts, infect institutional policy, limit prospects, and cost lives. May God, who will not grow faint or be crushed until he has established justice in the earth, so transform the minds and hearts of the leaders and people of this country that they will wholeheartedly commit to honor and uphold the integrity, potential, and equal rights of all human beings. For the people of Ukraine: that they may be delivered from the destruction and death of war, and be strong in the hope of their just cause. In thanksgiving for all fathers, grandfathers, and all who have loved, guided, and protected us like fathers: that God will watch over them, strengthen them, guard them, and bless them with every good gift. In thanksgiving for the baptism today of George Orton McCarty and Eleanor Grace Aneff. For all who are suffering from heat, drought, famine, and flooding. For all who continue to suffer from COVID-19. For those who have been commended to our prayers, especially, Patricia; Barbara; Jim; Sarah Jane; Joyce; Patti & Steve; Tom C.; Irma; Amanda; Judith & Sandra; Pam; Jane P.; Noreen K.; Gwen; Vivian H.; Marilyn; Lauren; Courtenay & Maggie & family; Manjit; Ladson & Xandria; Christine; Vivian & Michael L.; Clark; Heidi; Linda K.; Judith; and all who love them and hope for their healing and well-being. For those who endure chronic or incurable illnesses; and those who care for sick or aging loved ones. For those whose names and needs are known only to God. For all who have died, and all who mourn.
