September 11 Interfaith Observance - Brooklyn Heights Interfaith Clergy Association

Friday, September 11 between 8:30-10:00am and 5:30-7:00pm
Brooklyn Heights Promenade at Montague Street

So many events this year have invited us to rethink life and community in the wake of the current global pandemic and racial uprisings — that includes gathering to remember those we lost 19 years ago to a horrific terrorist attack. While health concerns prevent us from holding a traditional service this year our 9-11 memorial will be no less meaningful. Please join the Brooklyn Heights Clergy Association any time between 8:30-10 am and 5:30-7 pm to leave a written tribute on the Promenade at Montague Street. In our sacred distant way, we will honor those we lost and we will remember.
Ribbons and prayer blank cards will be distributed at the corner of Montague Street and the Promenade during the following times: 8:30am-10:00am & 5:30pm-7:00pm
A note from Chris Lee

Dear Grace members and friends,
I'm sending this invitation with mixed emotions. As thrilled as I am to have arrived at the end of a long journey, I am equally regretful that we can't gather in person to mark the occasion.
This Saturday, September 12th, at 11am, I will be ordained to the priesthood at Grace Church.
Although we will be observing strict health protocols, we are still looking forward to a joyous celebration. I would love for you to join us via livestream, by clicking this link.

Please know you are all in my thoughts and prayers as we experience what one of my mentors has called a 'kairos time' together. May you stay safe and strong in body, mind, and heart.
Peace and blessings,

A Note about In Person Worship
We are happy to be back and worshiping together in the sanctuary. As advised by the Department of Health and commended to us by the Bishop, we are following all appropriate protocols for gathering in a group, including a maximum of 50 people (with clergy) at each service. Seats are spaced throughout the pews so that a safe distance may be maintained.
To insure your health and safety, we will take your temperature at the door and maintain a contact tracing list. Masks are required. We have extra masks, as well as gloves (should you like them) and hand sanitizer.
We want everyone to stay safe and well, so if you or a family member become ill with COVID-19 after attending Church in person, please let us know so we can communicate with others with whom you may have been in contact.
As always, worship continues on-line at www.gracebrooklyn.org.
Info For Visitor and Guests During The Week

To insure your safety and maintain the workplace standards established by the Department of Health, we ask you to let us know ahead of time when you will be stopping by. When you visit please use only the Clergy Door, which is the first door on your right in the Hicks Street courtyard. Sign the Visitors Log at the door (should we need to do any contact tracing), sanitize your hands and, as always, wear a mask.

To minimize traffic, particularly while children are at school, please refrain from moving through the Parish Hall. The restroom at the back of the sanctuary is available for your use. We thank you!
