Grace Notes, our monthly newsletter, comes to you by email for April.
Holy Week Worship
Holy Week and the Great Three Days, from Maundy Thursday to Easter Sunday, form the center of our worship life, drawing us into the deep mystery of salvation. Even as we maintain physical separation, we are together in Christ and worship together through live-streamed services.
Pastor Hans Dumpys writes monthly articles for our worship folders commenorating saints of the church.
This is the article that was planned for the Palm Sunday bulletin, about German theologian Dietrich Bonhoeffer, who is remembered on April 7, the anniversary of his death in 1945.
Meet Jade Augustine
As congregation president Jade Augustine presides at the meetings of the congregation and of Church Council and leads the congregation in the work of carrying out its mission and ministry. She recently answered some get-to-know-you questions from the Grace Notes editor.
New roof top heating unit
The last week in March was Grace School’s scheduled spring break, and the replacement of a heating and air conditioning unit took place as originally planned. Facility Manager Rich Brooks shared some photos from the big day.
E-learning at Grace School
Students at Grace School, like students across the state of Illinois, are no longer attending class or hearing stories together, like the fourth graders in the photo. They are going to Zoom meetings and turning in their work online. Read about e-learning in Mrs. Brucato's class.
Grace's annual June rummage sale has been cancelled for 2020.
