Egg Hunt
One of the great mysteries of the Easter season is the sudden cropping-up of multi-colored ovoid fungi with sweet-tasting centers on the lawns of the nation. Rumor has it that they will appear at Grace on Saturday, March 30 – tomorrow! – at 1:00 p.m. Though their origin is ill-understood (some posit that they come from rabbits, but this seems extremely unlikely). Lawn mowers, blowers, rakes, and adult-intervention have no effect on them – they must be gathered up by the very young.

Egg Hunt (continued)
So, you stalwart parents of Grace, speak solemnly to your children and grandchildren about Duty and bring them to the church on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. – do not forget a basket to contain the fungi! – and charge your offspring with the task of gathering up as many as possible. The health of the lawn rests on this! And if you can, bring neighbor-kids and cousins once, twice, or thrice removed as well. The more, the better!
Easter Services and Activities
We have observed the Last Supper and foot washing on Maundy Thursday and relived the trial, crucifixion and death of Jesus on good Friday. Tomorrow, we will recall the history of God's salvation of his people through the Easter Vigil . All are invited to gather in the courtyard at 8:00 p.m. for the kindling of the new fire, and then go into the Nave for readings, prayers, music and first service of Easter. This service will be followed by a champagne reception in the Undercroft – bring your favorite goodie, sweet or savory, to share and enjoy champagne courtesy of the church.

On Easter morning, we will have services at the usual times (8:00 a.m. and 10:45 a.m.). Those will children will want to come by 10:00 a.m. to let their young ‘uns participate in the flowering of the cross (in the courtyard if dry, in the hallway if wet).
No Breakfast on Easter Sunday
Because the first Sunday of April is Easter Sunday, a day upon which many must fill the roles of delivery-rabbit, devout parishioner, and dutiful son/daughter/mother/father/aunt/uncle, the Stones have opted to move the usual first-Sunday breakfast to next Sunday, April 8. On that day, there will be more leisure to enjoy their wonderful cooking and the company of fellow Grace-ites as well. Come hungry and bring $4 (family maximum is $20).
Church Offices Closed on Monday
The church offices will be closed on Monday, April 2. Normal hours will resume on Tuesday, April 3.
Looking Ahead – Bishop’s Visit (April 15)
The Bishop will be at Grace on Sunday, April 15, to meet the Parish and to confirm and receive folks into the church. Because his visit had to be rescheduled because of a conflict, the service of confirmation cannot be at its usual place in the morning but has been scheduled instead at 4:00 p.m. In order not to kill our clergy with three services, there will be only ONE service that morning at 10:00 a.m. We will reconvene in the afternoon to welcome the Bishop and the new Episcopalians!
Shirlee Sullivan Celebration of Life
Many of us knew Shirlee during the years she attended Grace; she moved to Nebraska last fall to be closer to family as she dealt with her illness. A memorial service and celebration of her life will be held on April 6, 7:00 p.m. at St. Martha’s Episcopal Church, 780 Pinnacle Dr., Papillon, NE 68046.
Joseph Campbell --The Power of Myth
The RoundTable is revisiting The Power of Myth at 7:00 p.m. on Monday evenings in the Merritt Room at 7:00 p.m. If you've never seen this remarkable series or would like a chance to see it again and discuss it with others, please come! All are welcome!
