Children's Sunday School
There will be no Sunday School this week. We will make wreaths at 9:30 and all children are requested to go to 10:45 to hear the sermon on Advent.
Speaking of Wreath-Making....
The children invite you to join them in making Advent wreaths. Candles, dishes and wet foam are provided. We need you to bring GREENERY, though -- uh, GREENERY ! Prowl your yards for ivy, nandina, holly – anything that has greenery or red berries!

We especially need your help this year. With many hands, we can make extra for members who are housebound and create some beautiful centerpieces for the St. Nicholas dinner.
Directory Photos on Sunday
If you are new or new-ish to Grace and would like to be included in Grace’s online directory – or if you have been here so long that your photograph has cobwebs or simply no longer does justice to your fabulousness – you will have a chance to correct the situation on Sunday. Jim Milburn will be available after whichever service you attend to take or retake your picture. Seek him out, say ‘cheese,’ and hey presto, you’ll be in the directory for all to see!
Lesson and Carols & St. Nicholas Dinner
Come escape the reindeer stampede that’s already in progress and begin Advent with the thoughtful beauty of scripture, hymns and anthems. Relax and listen and muse. In peace!

After the service, come to the Undercroft for dinner with the family. The children will get a visit from St. Nicholas (the real one, not the fellow with the reindeer and the red suit), some goodies in their shoes, and a thoughtful, warm and amusing launch into one of the year's most beautiful and expectant seasons.
Weeks Forum
You are invited to join the Weeks Adult Forum this Sunday at 9:30 in the Barth Room. During this Advent Season we will be “Preparing to Become the Beloved Community” which supports the new vision document that lays out the Episcopal Church’s long-term commitment to racial healing. The journey is framed around the labyrinth because, in the ministry of racial healing and justice, none of us walks a straight line. We enter the labyrinth wherever God has provided an opening – telling the truth about our church’s story around race; discerning and proclaiming God’s dream of Beloved Community where we are; learning and practicing Jesus’ way of healing and love; and bravely working to transform systemic racial injustice. In this season of hope, preparation, joy and love I hope you will find time to join us Sunday morning to share your story, to listen to others, and to follow Jesus into loving, liberating, life-giving relationship with God, each other, and creation.

Parents -- Sign Up Children for Christmas Pageant!
Christmas pageant practice is the 15 th at 10 a.m., starting in the Undercroft and moving to the sanctuary. It should be over at 11:45 at the latest. The pageant is the 16 th during the 10:45 service. All children are invited. Your child/children/grandchildren/neighbor kids are welcome (FYI: A child can miss the rehearsal and still be included!). Teens are encouraged to volunteer to help with shepherding the young children during rehearsal and the pageant.

Please let Maria know if your kids are participating. Email her at mhurt@saygrace.net or text her at 503 4531.
Bizarre Bazaar
If you’re weary of giving ties and shirts and charging cords for Christmas, mark your calendar for the Brainerd Market’s season-finale on Saturday, December 8, when the Bizarre Bazaar takes over the Undercroft. Myriad vendors will be on hand with an amazing array of arts, crafts, baked goods and other edibles that can enliven your Christmas gift list or just provide you with fascinating and beautiful items you so much deserve! Hours will be 9 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.; enter through the Undercroft doors for most direct access.

BTW, the Bazaar needs some sturdy folk to help with putting tables away and helping vendors carry things in. The Friday evening hours have been ditched because of a change in work schedules; the Friday set-up will take place at 10:00 a.m. and Saturday morning hours are the same -- between 8 and 8:30 a.m. will be the crucial times . Contact Catherine Durham for more information ( catheriner.durham@gmail.com ) or simply show up with your walking shoes and your stamina!).
Christmas Poinsettias
The time is near for herald angels, silent nights, and the warm red of beautiful poinsettias in the Nave! If you would like to donate one or more of these lovely plants for the season’s decoration, the cost will be $15.00 per plant . You may do this in honor of, in memory of, or in thanksgiving for someone. Please fill out the form below and either drop it in the offering plate or bring/mail it to the Church office. We must have these returned by end of day on Thursday, December 13 th , for inclusion in the Christmas Eve bulletins.

Food Pantry
The Food Pantry continues to play the part of "Best Supporting Actor" in our neighborhood, bolstering up many whose budgets won't stretch to rent, medicine and food. We office folks are so grateful for our generous and responsive congregation, who make sure we've got something to give out to those in need.

This week, these items have thinned out considerably after we ran out of food vouchers earlier in the month:

* instant oatmeal and grits
* hearty soups
* beef stew
* peanut butter
* granola bars
* pop tarts

Joseph Campbell RoundTable’s Mythic Movie Tonight!
November 30th is a "Fifth Friday" and time for a "Mythic Movie."

This year, our RoundTable finally began a long-desired movie night. This month's movie is the classic  Conan the Barbarian, from 1982.

The movie will begin around 6:45 at Grace Episcopal, in the Youth area on the 4th floor. (See directions on which door to use below.) If you are running late, please come anyway. It may take a few minutes to set up.

Visitors and guests are always welcome. There is no charge to attend though donations for Grace's food pantry are welcome, appreciated and encouraged. Since the summer, there has been an ongoing flow of requests for food from our surrounding community. Donations such as canned goods, boxes of crackers, canned meats, help to ease some of the financial concerns for this area.

For this event, the directions for entry are different:
Enter through the Handicapped door on the first level (back of church, "lower" parking lot off of Brainerd Road.) An elevator is available for the top floor. The HC doors will be open between 6:30-7. If you are arriving after that, please contact me by text.

Prediction: you'll be requesting the soundtrack of Conan for a Christmas present, or giving it to someone else.
