SENIORS @ GRACE

*November 12 Saying Grace.  Come join us for a Grace Lutheran Church Friendsgiving. Our meal will feature food from the Grace Lutheran Church Cookbooks. (Note this is the 2nd week of November.) Plus, our friend Dr. Kristen Wunderlich will be coming to join us with her voice students. Each of her students will sing a song from their repertoire.  It will be a wonderful combination of good music, good food and good friends. Please note that we are meeting early at 11:00 AM and we will start with our program about 11:15 AM. (The students will need to get back to classes by 12:30 PM.) Lunch ($6.00) will follow the program and we want our guests to get food as well. We hope you can join us! Contact information for RSVPs: Annie-Laurie Wheat cell phone (803) 517-0626 or house phone (803) 980-1834 or wheatannielaurie@gmail.com

WELCM News

WELCM continues to grow. We’ve had 17 different participants at one or more of our events, almost all of whom are new to WELCM this semester. And they are making use of the white house! One or more can be found there most afternoons or evenings watching a movie, studying, snacking (even cooking!) or just chilling out and enjoying each other’s’ company. You can meet some of them in the Fall newsletter created by our student peer ministers Vanessa and Roxanne. Click here to see it.

If you have questions or want to know more about this important ministry, please contact Bob Stonebraker at cm@welcm.org or 803-389-7055. We appreciate your continuing support.

Help Grace Serve at Bethel Men’s Shelter

Bethel Men’s Shelter, operated by Bethel United Methodist Church, provides a free meal each night for approximately 60–80 men experiencing homelessness in Rock Hill. Join Grace members in supporting this ministry by preparing a casserole, donating supplies, or serving the meal on Monday, November 30, at 6:00 PM.

Pick up a pan: Aluminum baking pans, an easy-to-prepare casserole recipe, and instructions will be available in the Fellowship Hall following the 10:00 AM worship service on Sunday, November 8.

Return your casserole: Please place frozen casseroles in the Grace kitchen freezer by Tuesday, November 24.

Parish Administrator Transition Update

Council and our Parish Administrator, Katherine Romero, have come to an agreement on a process by which she is going to be transitioning out of the Parish Administrator role, while Grace begins a search process for a new Parish Administrator. This interim process will be a month-to-month agreement with her new schedule being Monday through Thursday from 9:00am to 3:00pm.

We are thankful for this transition time during which Katherine can pursue other employment opportunities while Grace searches for a new Parish Administrator. Because Katherine was willing and highly skilled, her responsibilities grew during the time Pastors Gregg and Rachel Hoffman served Grace, and then they expanded even further when the pastors left. Her care for Grace and deep sense of responsibility for helping us through the pastoral transition has been a great blessing.

At this time, however, there are many responsibilities she took on that we will now assume in our committees and leadership roles. We encourage all committee chairs and leaders of the congregation to schedule time to meet with Katherine to ask questions, gain knowledge, learn processes that are essential to continuing our ministry as smoothly as possible, and share some of the ways her time at Grace has impacted your life and the life of the congregation.
