Name Tags Are Here!

We are so excited to have name tags ready to use! We invite you to wear your name tag whenever you’re at Grace for a service, gathering, or group.

These name tags will help us put names and faces together, building connections between members. We will also better recognize those without name tags who may be visitors, so that we can be intentional in making new connections.

Please Note: The magnets on these tags are NOT suitable for those using pacemakers. We have pin-backed tags for those with a pacemaker, and for anyone else who would prefer a pin over a magnet. Please let Pr. Rachel know if your tag needs a pin, rather than a magnet.
Our first 2023 Grace Family Dinner and Holden Evening Prayer was a great event!

Thank you to everyone who provided soup and helped with the meal, and to everyone who took part!

We hope that you'll join us for the remaining Wednesday evenings in Lent as we gather around soup and enjoy conversations as a faith family, then worship together with the Holden service.

This Wednesday, we are still in need of a couple more soups and volunteers to help with cleanup. If you're able, please click HERE to sign up to help with a Grace Family Dinner.
Jean Faut
1925 - 2023

Members and friends, we are sad to inform you of the death of our sister, Jean Faut.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Grace this Friday, March 10 at 2:00pm.

We hold close in prayer her sons, Larry and Kevin and all those who mourn this loss. We trust in the eternal promise of the resurrection and entrust Jean to the heavenly care of Jesus Christ.
"For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Romans 8:38-39
Seniors@Grace
Join us on Thursday, March 23 for a very special Seniors@Grace guest presentation to celebrate Women's History Month. Our dear friend Cynthia Roddey will talk about a variety of topics after we share a delightful Irish inspired lunch prepared by my sister. We will gather at the usual hour of 11:30 am. Lunch at noon followed by the presentation. Please RSVP by Tuesday March 21st to Annie-Laurie Wheat at 803 517-0626 (cell) or 803 980-1834 (home) or email at [email protected] with your name and number of guests.

Rev. Dr. Cynthia P. Roddey, a native of Rock Hill, has been a social activist
since the 1950s. A retired educator and business owner, she actively advocates for Neurodiversity. She has been a Friend of Grace since 1953.
First African American enrollee and first to graduate with a Masters of Arts in Teaching from Winthrop College (WU).
Easter Baskets of Blessings
Grace Lutheran is collecting baskets for the annual Easter Baskets of Blessings that will be given to the York County Council on Aging members. Click HERE to sign up. All baskets should be brought to the church Fellowship Hall NO LATER than Sunday, March 26 (this is in 3 weeks). Thank you in advance for your contributions!

These baskets should be filled with some of the following items; healthy snacks (applesauce, crackers, sugar free candy, granola bars etc) and toiletry/personal need products (lotions, shampoo, deodorant, wipes, toothpaste etc.) Feel free to add in extras as you see fit. You will need to place all the items in a basket or useful container (storage container, laundry basket etc.), wrap them carefully to secure all products (clear cellophane works great), and attach a tag to the top of the basket with the person's name, gender, and clearly written. We were NOT given Route numbers this year, so you can leave those off.
Grace Easter Egg Hunt
April 2, 3:30-4:30pm

You're invited to the Grace Easter Egg hunt! This event is open to all Grace members to enjoy. We will have a craft, some games, fellowship, and eggs for the kids to hunt!

We will have 2 egg hunting groups - our toddlers and unders will hunt in one spot, and our slightly older kids through Young Youth will hunt in another, so that everyone has a great time! We'll also hunt at separate times, so that we can all share the joy of seeing both hunts!

We will be creating treat bags for our egg hunters, and we invite you to help fill those bags! If you'd like to donate, please bring individually wrapped candies and/or small prizes to the donation box in the Fellowship Hall by March 26th. Thank you in advance for helping with these!

Finally, please help us plan well, and let us know HERE if you'll be coming!
Grace is Going to the Ballgame!

On April 23rd, we are headed to Winthrop Ballpark to see the Eagles play UNC Asheville! The game tips off at 1pm, and we hope you'll be there! It'll be a great time for fellowship, fresh air, and sports!

Tickets are $5 each. Grace will purchase the tickets in a block and then request your payment to the church. Please let us know HERE by March 31st if you'll be joining us!

We know camp can be expensive, and we don't want cost to be a barrier to anyone's faith formation. If you'd like to apply for a Grace scholarship for a NovusWay camp, please click HERE or speak to Pr. Rachel for more information.
We are keeping track of our new connections and sharing them with each other. To do so, please click HERE to share your connection!

Member Memories
One of the ways we will be celebrating the rich history of Grace this year is to hear about its impact on the lives of its members.

Following the example of Richard Denton (one of the first to be baptized at Grace, and now a member of the Church Triumphant), we hope to share these member memories throughout our 100th year. Click HERE to read Richard Denton's Remembrance of Grace "The Early Years."

These do not need to be very long - even a single paragraph would be fine. Simply share with us your perspective, the way your story and Grace's story came together, and we will publish these remembrances in these Grace Notes publications throughout the year.

Email your memories to [email protected]
Altar Flowers
It is a long-standing tradition at Grace for members to sponsor the weekly flowers, often in honor or memory of a special person or event.

The cost is $45 for one or $90 for both vases.
