Using our gifts in 2022!

This year, we are challenging ourselves to try two new things to use our gifts. First, we’re going to try a new Grace ministry! Second, we’re going to try a new serving opportunity in the community (or, if we’re already doing service work in the community, we’re going to share the story of that work)! These new commitments can be short or long term – the main thing is trying something new.

You can share your intentions for your new endeavors, as well as your other intentions for ministry this year, by filling out the 2022 Time & Talent Form. On this form, you can let us know what you'd like to participate in, and we will get you connected!

If you'd like more information about many of the ministries at Grace, you can click HERE for our Description of Opportunities booklet.

These items are also available in hard copy in the Fellowship Hall.

Please fill out your Time & Talent Form by February 14th!

If you have any questions, please contact Pr. Rachel.
We look forward to using our gifts and doing ministry together in 2022!
Many of you have volunteered over at HOPE food pantry, and you've seen just how much food can go out in a week! There's usually a great variety of fresh and non-perishable items, which is wonderful, as HOPE can meet a variety of dietary needs.

But did you know that HOPE almost never gets donations of jelly or jam? What's a PB&J without the J?! What's a morning biscuit without some delicious fruit spread?! We want to share this sweet treat with our neighbors, and so this week, January 30 to February 6, is Jelly Week!

For Jelly Week, we invite you to pick up an extra jar or two of your favorite jam or jelly during your grocery shopping. Then, drop the jars off in the Fellowship Hall (we recommend bringing them on Sunday 6th). After February 6th, we'll take them over to HOPE, where they will be shared with neighbors from far and wide.

Thank you for taking part in this effort to bring a bit of sweetness to those around us!
Dear Grace Family,
We are saddened to inform you that Frank Surratt passed away on January 29.
In the sure and certain hope of the resurrection, we entrust Frank to God.
Our sympathy and prayers enfold his family, especially his wife, Norma and their family in this time of grief.

WELCM Gathering Dinners Needed!
On Tuesday evenings during the school year, our campus ministry, WELCM, offers free, home-cooked dinners for students at the White House behind Grace Lutheran.
Please join us in creating community for and with Winthrop students and demonstrating the warm hospitality of Grace by providing dinner! Sign up in the Fellowship Hall. Contact Olga-Maria with any questions.
All women and friends are invited to join us for our next LIFT meeting on Wednesday, February 9 at 6pm.

For more information, contact Karen Harris.
In case you missed it, we welcomed New Members in December!

Keep an eye out for new member introductions as we will feature some of the newest members in the next several weeks.
If you’ve already broken your 2022 new year’s resolution, there’s still time to make a new one. How about resolving to volunteer at HOPE one morning a week? Many of our Grace members have found this a fun and fulfilling way to help our community. Just stop by any morning, Monday through Thursday (or Tuesdays at 6:00 pm) or call Rachel Bell, Volunteer Coordinator at (803) 493-5840 or Grace’s HOPE liaison, Ron Hartman, at (330) 620-4711 for more information.

2022 Offering Envelopes
Offering envelopes for 2022 are now available and may be picked up in the Fellowship Hall. At this point we have prepared sets only for those we expect to be using them. Therefore, those of you that have been giving electronically or are having your financial institution send checks directly to Grace will not find a set with your name. However, we do have extra sets and will happily provide them to anyone that asks. Just let us know (either contact the church office or financial secretary Bob Stonebraker or 803-980-1834) and we’ll get a set for you.
2021 Giving Statements
All members with emails listed in Realm should have received a link to their 2021 year-end giving statement. Please check your spam or trash folders if you did not get this. If you need us to resend the link, or if you need a paper copy, please contact financial secretary Bob Stonebraker or 803-980-1834.
