Friday Devotional:

Psalm 67

In many parts of the Northern Hemisphere, August is usually a time of natural abundance. Trees are lush with gree life, corn stretches toward the sky, berries ripen in generous sunshine, flowers and grasses flourish.

Psalm 67, likely a hymn for harvest time, identifies earth's bounty as a sign of blessing. It names the gift and points to the giver: "God, our God, has blessed us."

The extravagance of God's blessing calls for praise beyond what any individual, family, community, or nation can muster. "Let all the proples praise you" (v. 3), the psalmist sings. "Let the nations be glad and sing for joy" (v.4). "Let all the ends of the earth revere" the God who blesses us all (v.7).

Gratitude and joy create a good place for peoples and nations to come together. For all that divides us, we share one earth and one sun, which God causes to rise on everyone (Matt. 5:45). Together, we are blessed. May God help us recognize and celebrate our blessings!

Thank you, gracious and generous God, for our world and its abundant blessings. Amen

SERVICE OVER SUMMER PROJECT

Summer is now in full swing, and with it, starts our annual summer project for Our Redeemer. Over the summer, we will be collecting school supplies in order to assemble School Kits for Lutheran World Relief and local students.

Starting NOW, we ask that if you are able to donate one item from the list below, drop it off at the church office. Another option, we are accepting monetary donations, and we'll do the shopping on your behalf. We will be

accepting donations all summer long!

With your help, we hope to assemble at least 120 school bags.

With your help, these bags will go to places like Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America, as well as students in our own community!

Items Needed for School Kits:

· One box of 16 or 24 crayons

· Four 70-sheet spiral notebooks of wide or college-ruled paper, approximately 8"x10 ½"; no loose-leaf paper

· One 30-centimeter ruler, or a ruler with centimeters on one side and inches on the other

· Five black or blue ballpoint pens (no gel ink); secured together with a rubber band

Join us on Saturday, September 12, 2026,

at 5:00 pm for worship.

On this day, we will celebrate

God's work. Our hands.

We will be assembling School Kits for the Lutheran World Relief.

Ladies Ensemble:

Women's ensemble rehearsal Sunday, directly after our morning service (@ 11:30 a.m.) I look forward to rehearsing with you!

Quilting and Fellowship

Every Wednesday at 9:00 am

The quilting group "Operation LOVE" at Our Redeemer has been creating quilts for the Lutheran World Relief quilt ministry for many years. About 100 quilts are sent annually to Lutheran World Relief for distribution to those in need around the world.

Operation LOVE meets every Wednesday at 9:00 am in the coffee room. Anyone interested in participating in this ongoing project is encouraged to join the group at any time.

Sewing/quilting experience is not essential since there are many different ways to give assistance as needed.
