Grace Notes

Friday Devotional:

Psalm 26:1-8

As a hospice chaplain, I have walked with many people who have lived lives of love, care, accomplishment, and service. Oh, how I have learned about God and a life of faith from these beautiful souls! Indeed, they have taught me about what it means, in the psalmist's words, to "walk in my integrity."

Often, however, these same people wonder at the end of life whether it has all been enough-whether they have been enough. They wonder whether they are worthy of the love, mercy, and forgiveness promised to us by our relationship with a good and gracious God.

Here, the psalmist's plea to God offers us all balm. The writer does not claim to have lived a perfect life. Rather, his confidence rests in his integrity and trust in God for the journey.

When we are released from the burden of perfectionism, we are free to grow in relationship with God and to bear witness and testify to God's grace for all, including ourselves.

God of grace, hold me close and tell me I am good

and worthy of your love. Amen

SERVICE OVER SUMMER PROJECT

Summer is now in full swing, and with it, starts our annual summer project for Our Redeemer. Over the summer, we will be collecting school supplies in order to assemble School Kits for Lutheran World Relief and local students.

Starting NOW, we ask that if you are able to donate one item from the list below, drop it off at the church office. Another option, we are accepting monetary donations, and we'll do the shopping on your behalf. We will be

accepting donations all summer long!

With your help, we hope to assemble at least 120 school bags.

With your help, these bags will go to places like Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America, as well as students in our own community!

Items Needed for School Kits:

· One box of 16 or 24 crayons

· Four 70-sheet spiral notebooks of wide or college-ruled paper, approximately 8"x10 ½"; no loose-leaf paper

· One 30-centimeter ruler, or a ruler with centimeters on one side and inches on the other

· Five black or blue ballpoint pens (no gel ink); secured together with a rubber band

Join us on Saturday, September 12, 2026,

at 5:00 pm for worship.

On this day, we will celebrate

God's work. Our hands.

We will be assembling School Kits for the Lutheran World Relief.

Ladies Ensemble:

Women's ensemble rehearsal Sunday, directly after our morning service (@ 11:30 a.m.) I look forward to rehearsing with you!

Quilting and Fellowship

Every Wednesday at 9:00 am

The quilting group "Operation LOVE" at Our Redeemer has been creating quilts for the Lutheran World Relief quilt ministry for many years. About 100 quilts are sent annually to Lutheran World Relief for distribution to those in need around the world.

Operation LOVE meets every Wednesday at 9:00 am in the coffee room. Anyone interested in participating in this ongoing project is encouraged to join the group at any time.

Sewing/quilting experience is not essential since there are many different ways to give assistance as needed.
